PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE READING THE FANFICTION: This scene between Naruto and Sakura are from Shippuuden 488 (Sasuke's story: Sunrise PART 5).At the end, they're walking together in the sunset talking about Sasuke.I altered that conversation to absolute NaruSaku style which leads to that Sakura accidentally reveals her feelings to Naruto, more precisely, how she feels about the two of them.I hope you will enjoy reading this!

*Sakura and Naruto are walking together on a quite little street in Konoha surrounded by the last rays of the setting sun*

Naruto: Although, we haven't fought out last battle today, we're one step closer to the peace which will hopefully prevail the shinobi world one day

Sakura: I'm sure about that. But we have to work on it every day by now

Naruto: Absolutely.I continue training to become Hokage and you do miracles in the hospital

Sakura: I want to end as much suffering as I am able to

Naruto: Then in spite of all these years, our goals have remained the same

Sakura: Naruto , I know you will make a wonderful Hokage one day.I just… *pauses and looks sadly in front of herself* I wish this new goal of ours wouldn't separate us again like it did before

Naruto: *hugely surprised* Huh?Sakura-chan, what did you just say?

Sakura: *gasps* I-I didn't mean it that, forget about that immediately! *punches Naruto angrily*

If that wasn't for gravity, Naruto would have already orbited around the globe from the punch Sakura just inflicted on him. If someone was also taking a walk on that evening, it could witness a Naruto flying againts the proper course in the lovely sunset. He landed on the ground accompanied by a loud thump and a groan.

Sakura started approaching him with her fists still clenched and Naruto dazedly acknowledged that the punishment hasn't finished yet.

"Baka Naruto, you should listen when a girl is talking to you!"

"I-I did" he protested and started moving backwards in his sitting position "I just couldn't believe to my ears" and he raised his hands with a half placatory, half embarrassed smile on his face.

Sakura stopped in her tracks and stared at the grinning Naruto in confusion. Her hand fall back next to her body and struck by sadness she glanced away. Naruto looked up at her and the sight wiped the smile from his face. He immediately got on his feet.

"Sakura-chan…"

She just shook her head and stepped closer to him making handsigns. Her hand started glowing with a familiar green light and she placed her right palm at the point on Naruto's chest where she previously punched him. Naruto felt as a warm sensation was spreading over his upper body and his smile appeared again.

"You know I'm healing quite fast, right?" he looked into her eyes but she avoided his glance.

Silent seconds passed between the two of them which were only escorted by the barely audible whirling of the pink-haired kunoichi's chakra.

"I'm sorry" she said quietly "I keep beating you up for no reason. You don't deserve that…"

"What are you talking about?" Naruto tried to cheer her up "Sometimes even I am surprised by my own dumbness"

"Stop that, you know it's not true"

She finished healing him. Her palm started to slide slowly to the point on Naruto's chest where she felt his beating heart. She was staring at it for a few seconds.

"This" the palm became a pointing finger "You have one enormous heart here, you know" The next words which left her mouth were a little hesitant because, let's be honest, one rarely hears Haruno Sakura speak this expressively.

"Full of kindness and forgiveness…" unintentionally, her glance wandered up to Naruto's face.

The blonde was smiling brightly and was grateful that their eyes could finally meet so that she can read out that everything's alright.

Indeed, Sakura was surprised to discover the absolute absence of any kind of resentment in Naruto's eyes.

"There is nothing I should forgive you for" he smiled.

As always, Sakura was amazed by how warmhearted Naruto could be but deep down she felt she didn't deserve that. She was about to dive into her newest self-mauling thoughts when Naruto (catching that quickly) leant in and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. Sakura's heart suddenly skipped a beat and her pupils broadened wide in surprise. Although, Naruto's warm lips lingered only a few seconds on her forehead, every single bit in Sakura were hastening desperately to memorize their sensation. Naruto pulled back and even if he had noticed his teammate's surprised expression, he pretended as if nothing would have happened. He simply stepped aside, started walking and acknowledged with a smile how swiftly Sakura turned after him.

"Originally, we set off to have ramen…" he looked back at her without slowing down his steps "…and truth to say, I'm already as hungry as a wolf!" he was grinning.

Sakura almost dropped her jaw but regained hold over herself quickly.

"Wait me, you baka!" she shouted after Naruto and sped up her steps to catch up with him…

Well, this is it!The end maybe felt a little out of character, but I wanted to show (even if it's in a paralell universe or only in my own pink-clouded imagination) how Naruto has developed courage to approach Sakura this way and how Sakura's feelings keep growing more and more tender around Naruto which makes her lose againts him. My never-fading feelings for NaruSaku were throbbing with joy while writing this and I hope you liked it as well. Even if you didn't, please let me know your opinion.
