This is my first fic on a new account. My sister made the idea for this, I'm just continuing it. I'm sorry that this first chapter is short and doesn't show much of the character's thoughts. I'm just starting out. And yes, there are MAJOR spoilers in this fic.

I'm the Chosen?

Chapter One

Then the Chosen is really...

It was a hot day in the Triet Desert. Lloyd Irving, Genis Sage, Raine Sage, Kratos Aurion, and the Chosen, Colette Brunel, were on their way to the Seal of Fire.

"FANTASTIC!" Raine suddenly called out when they got to the ruins. "Look at this slab covering the entrance! It's clearly of a different composition then the surrounding stones!" She took a moment to identify the rock. "Oh, hohohoho! It's just as I thought! This is polycarbonate! It was developed during the ancient war to defend against magic! Oh, feel the smooth surface, it's wonderous!"

After a seemingly endless silence, Kratos asked "Is she always like this?"

Raine continued to admire the stone.

Lloyd looked at Genis. "Is she?" he asked.

"Aw…I've been trying so hard to hide it too!" Genis replied.

"Hmm?" Raine said. A/N: Would that be "said"? "This depression, it reads 'Oracle Stone.' Colette, place your hand here. That should reveal the entrance."

Lloyd looked surprised. "Really?"

Raine nodded. "This stone is enchanted with magic designed to identify the Chosen. There's no question about it." Colette walked over to the stone and placed her hand on it. Nothing happened. She tried again and again, but the door wouldn't open.

"It's not working!" she exclaimed. Lloyd walked over to the stone.

"The stupid thing must be broken!" he said. He banged his hand on the Oracle Stone, and the entrance to the Seal was revealed. Everyone stared, too stunned to say anything. Lloyd finally broke the silence. "It…opened…"

"Then the Chosen…" Kratos began. "…is really Lloyd." Colette took off her Cruxis Crystal and placed it around Lloyd's neck.

"I-I'm the Chosen?" Lloyd exclaimed. "But…but that's impossible! Colette received the Oracle, so then how could I…"

"The how or why does not matter." Kratos said. "What matters is that you are the Chosen and it is up to you to regenerate the world now."

"How can you not wonder how this happened?" Genis yelled at Kratos. "The very beings that watch over this world and know everything that's going on didn't know that they had the wrong person!"

I will have to ask Mithos how he did something that stupid. Kratos thought. "As I said, that does not matter. The entire world is at stake."

There you have it. The first chapter is done.
