Prologue
Deep within the forest, a river swept across the banks, leading to an open space well protected from the waves that constantly swept across shore. This, so happens to be the Waveclan territory. A dark blue-gray shecat stared onward to the waves coming inward and outward from the gigantic lake in front of her.
"Oceanstar!" an orange shecat panted, running to her leader with the stench of fear.
The gracious leader jerked her head around, looking at her deputy, Amberwave.
"What's wrong?" Oceanstar rasped; the fur on her shoulders prickled.
"The kits, Meadowstream's kits, they're gone!" Amberwave panted in a cold tone.
Oceanstar gasped, "Has the Clan been searching the area?" Amberwave nodded in response.
"Take Tumbleweed and search around the forest." Oceanstar ordered.
"Yes, Oceanstar," she obediently replied, and bounded torward their camp to get Tumbleweed. Oceanstar ran into the camp. All warriors and apprentices had been scattered around the camp, trying to smell out the kit's scent.
She caught glance of Meadowstream, who desperately paced around the nursery.
"Meadowstream!" Oceanstar called out to the queen, who approached her with deep sadness and fright.
"Have you been able to find the hint of the kit's scent??" Oceanstar asked. Meadowstream shook her head.
"Don't worry. We need those kits now more than ever. This Clan has just opened to the Starclan and already we have our first challenge." Oceanstar meowed.
"My kits," Meadowstream whispered; sadness dwelled within her.
"Oceanstar!" a voice called, it was from an apprentice named Smallpaw.
Oceanstar head the cry before.
The challenge of fate is set upon one's choice to lead.
