The usual Disclaimers:
Don't own any of the Character's... just doing this for fun. Not earning any money.
The mad hatter was sitting at his window, stared at the sky and the amazing view he had from his tower in the white queen's castle. All the other's, the march hare and the white queen included, still hoped for alice to come back one day. Even though it had been years since she had said her goodbye. But he knew better.
Despite the fact that things had been good in wonderland since the red queen had been overpowered and sent to exhile the hatter still felt like it had rained each day. He had been gloomy and not his usual mad and cheery self at all. The white queen had tried to talk to him once and he had pretented to feel better. but the cloud above his head didn't seem to go away. He felt robbed of a piece of himself, and to him this made sense, even if nothing else did, because the instant he met alice he had felt protective of her, like a father. And with every minute they spent together that feeling had become more intense. And that was why he couldn't smile anymore, everytime he tried his face ached in agony. It simply felt wrong., because the girl he felt was his daughter, was gone.
He mostly kept to himself, not only because he felt like he couldn't face the other happy faces in the castle, but also because he didn't want them to know about his secret. His embarrassing little secret. His wardrobes are full of hats, hats that would fit alice perfectly. Every day since she was gone he had created one more, adding to the huge pile. Tasteful, beautyful hats that he was sure alice would even be able to wear in the real world. Everyday a new one got stored away. He didn't even need measurements, her head and it's proportions were imprinted in his mind.
He sighed and got up. "Another day, another hat" he thought and walked over to his desk. He sat down, took a pen and started sketching for yer another hat...
