A/N: Even if fanfiction seems to be down at the moment I shall write my fiction anyway! Perseverance! I must write! I really need to do this and stop procrastinating.
Tonight I'm going to try something different, because usually I seem to be doing lots of introspective pieces tonight I shall do exactly the opposite. I am going to write an actual little scene thing… Means it probably won't work… Oh well!
Day 9
Title: First Meeting.
Characters: James Potter, Sirius Black
Words: 557
Disclaimer: The Usual.
Sirius Black made his way down the aisle of the Hogwarts Express looking in the compartments to see if he could find an empty one. It was his first day starting at this new school and he was quite nervous, not because he didn't want to start a new school or leave his family. Oh no, he was all too happy to be leaving his family. No, Sirius was nervous about the sorting and where he would be placed in this new school. His entire family had been in Slytherin and really the 11-year old could not think of a worse punishment the whole lot of them had turned out rotten and he didn't want to suffer the same fate.
But, he supposed he would just have to wait and see what happened. Until then it was best not to think about it.
Finally, he came across a seemingly empty compartment and he dragged his trunk inside, shoving it up onto the rack. That done he sat down next to the window, staring out of it at the families still on the Platform. He caught sight of his mother and Regulus disappearing back through the barrier, as if they would watch him leave…
"BOO!"
Suddenly from the seemingly empty seat next to him Sirius was grabbed and pulled into a headlock.
"Ahhhrgh! What the-!"
What the bloody hell was this? Some kind of initiation ritual he hadn't been aware of? Battle an invisible monster as soon as you get on the train? Not to be beaten by this… Whatever it was Sirius struggled about fighting back against the headlock, eventually wrestling his attacker back down onto the bench.
" Ahhh I give I give!" A boys voice sounded and when Sirius looked at the thing beneath him he saw that something had slipped and he could see messy black hair. Now intrigued he reached up and pulled away the fabric of a cloak revealing the face of a boy about his age with crooked glasses and a wide grin.
"What the bloody hell was that?" Sirius was still rather irritated and he didn't move to release the boy.
"It was a joke. And it looks like it worked," The boy was completely undaunted by Sirius' snarling growl, "You should've seen your face when I grabbed you," He laughed, finally making a move and attempting to shove Sirius off him, "You're crushing my ribs…" He groused and Sirius finally got up, sitting once again.
"How'd you do that anyway?" He was now curiously. This boy seemed like another First Year and very few of them knew any magic at all, let alone a spell advanced enough to turn one completely invisible like that.
"Invisibility cloak," The boy pulled it from the rest of his body and held it out for Sirius to look at, "It was my dad's and he gave it to me when I got my letter!"
"I've heard about these, never actually seen one," Sirius examined the cloak for a couple of seconds before handing it back to the strange boy who was now looking at him curiously.
"Yeah. They're really rare," He nodded as he took the fabric back, "So what's your name?" He asked.
"Sirius Black. What's yours?"
"James Potter at your service," He grinned and held out a hand which Sirius accepted.
