Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter, or The Night Before Christmas.  Believe it or not, but despite my tremendous (right!) writing skills, I'm not making any money off this.

Twas The Night Before Christmas: Harry Potter Style!

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the school,

Not a creature was stirring, not even a ghoul,

I had just checked the Marauder's Map with care,

So I knew for sure that no one was there;

The students were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of chocolate frogs danced in their heads,

And Hermione with her curls, and Ron with his freckled nose,

Had settled their brains for a long winter doze;

Once I knew everyone in the tower was in bed,

I sprang from my bed, accidentally hitting my head,

I stifled a cry and rubbed my head gingerly,

Then I opened my trunk and looked through it quietly;

The moon on my invisibility cloak,

Shed light on a pile of dung bombs- Ron's joke,

When, what to my searching eyes should appear,

But the golden necklace I bought for Cho dear;

With a little golden heart and a message for her,

"To Cho, From Harry.  I love you, my dear"

I wanted to leave it right in her dorm,

So it would be there for her on Christmas morn;

I threw on my cloak, checked the map once more,

Grabbed the present and crept out the door,

I snuck down the stairs into the Common Room,

I knew that I should enter Cho's dorm soon;

Careful not to disturb the sleeping Fat Lady,

Who I suspected was really quite tipsy,

I left through the portrait hole and sped down the hall,

Until, to my great misfortune, I confronted a wall!

"Damn this Hogwarts," I muttered under my breath,

"I could, one day, be running from my death,

And be trapped by a moving staircase or door!

This is turning into an awful chore!"

I wheeled around and headed to the right,

With luck, the Ravenclaw portrait would soon be in sight,

But, alas, when I arrived there was no trace of it there!

"Behind you, dearie," I heard, as a breeze blew my hair;

The Grey Lady was there, "Looking for Cho, dearie?

The hole's here, and the password is spleen.  Don't you worry!"

She glided back through the wall, and I followed,

"Just up there, dear."  She pointed and I swallowed.

I gave her my thanks and crept up the stairs,

I felt as if I had entered dragons lairs,

I peeked in the first door, the second, the third,

But none contained Cho, my dear little bird.

And, finally, there, in number thirteen,

I found dear Cho, lying in her own dreams,

Careful not to disturb the other girls there,

I tiptoed to her bed and said a silent prayer;

For the very sight of her had turned my knees to jello,

Her black hair framed her face like a halo,

Her face looked like that of a venerable child,

He lips were turned up in a half-smile;

I set the necklace and note by her bed,

And my emotions got the better of my head,

I kissed her on the cheek and said softly,

"Merry Christmas, dear Cho!" and left without more talking.
