Apology-based Story
Professor, I just wanted to apologize for not turning in my assignment last week. I kept thinking about how I needed to get it done, but then I had other homework and I kept putting it off, and I had to cover some shifts at work, which is forty-five minutes away from where I live. Work has been really stressful lately; people have been quitting or not showing up for their shifts, so as the assistant manager I have to fill in the gaps. I would have started the assignment earlier, but I had to study for two exams and write a paper for another class. Plus the assignment was really confusing so I was going to talk to you about it but I never got the chance. I have so much homework this semester, and so much reading to do I don't know where I find the time. Plus I live an hour and a half from campus, and I drive down here every single day, so it's not like I'm not dedicated or I don't care about my classes, but I just have so much going on right now. I'm planning my wedding, working two jobs, I had to babysit my niece and nephew the other day- who are twins, I have four other classes to do work for, which are all hard. I don't know why professors give out so much homework- it's just that much more work for them to do. If I were a professor I wouldn't give out any homework, or at least not as much as the ones I have do. Don't you guys have anything else to do besides grade papers? Maybe go to a movie or a bar like the rest of society. It's like you all have secret meetings and plan huge assignments all to be due on the exact same day. Why are you trying to bring down my GPA and ruin my life? If it drops I lose my scholarships, and then how am I going to pay for college? Work more hours? Then I would have less time for the homework you assign. It's a never-ending, vicious cycle you people play. Anyway I can see you have a stack of papers to grade so I'll try to get it in tomorrow.
