Author's Note:

This is my first published Sailor Moon fic. It's actually more of a teaser which could result in a full-blown feature, depending on how much time I have in my hands. It's supposed to be about the chain of events that triggered the destruction of the Moon Kingdom, so there entirety of it (if it pushes through) will be set in all the characters' past lives.

Please tell me what you think but, don't hold your breath for the following chapter. I still have to finish "Without Her" for Ranma 1/2, after all. :)

Disclaimer: Sailor Moon and all it's characters belong to Naoko Takeuchi and all concerned parties.

Lunar Ember Presents

A Bishojou Senshi Sailor Moon Fan Fiction

The Fall

Prelude

Serenity was a name that had been passed down their family from time immemorial. It was a homage to the Queen who birthed the Silver Crystal, the very first Senshi who banished Chaos into nothingness and restored balance to the Universe.

Serenity was a name that built an empire, a name that held at bay one of the strongest forces known to man, a name that was synonymous to "goddess". This was why royalties of worlds closest to the Moon promised their allegiance to its bearer: she who carried the name had the choice to create peace or propagate destruction.

Therefore it was a blessed thing that women who were dubbed Serenity never wanted anything more than peace. Many believed that the reason why the Silver Crystal chose the citizens of the Moon was because the were gentle folk - they were scholars, musicians, wizards, and dreamers who shunned there mere thought of war, and who knew how to respect the Great Balance. Thus, just as the Sun lent its light to the Moon, so did the worlds around them lend their strength and protection. For ages, they kept the bright, shining kingdom safe. In return, each goddess maintained the Balance and prayed for the peace of the galaxy in her time given to rule.

However, there was one law that any woman with the name of Serenity should abide by: she was never to fall in love with any man born beyond the Moon Kingdom. The Moon blood that ruled the Silver Crystal should forever be pure; to taint it would mean the instability of the magic that worked within it.

Unfortunately, the woman who took the name on the 1,000 year of the Moon Kingdom met Endymion, the Prince of the Earth and Protector of Elysion. Little did anybody know that in a few years time, he and she would trigger a series of events that would forever change history.
