You and Me
Prologue
"C'mon, C'mon…" Scott mumbled under breath impatiently as he tapped his index knuckle against his thigh. Elevators had never been able to go fast enough for his liking, but this one just seemed to be torturing him!
The day had just dragged on and on and on, it had felt as though it would never end. And of course, once the day finally did end, Jean was nowhere to be found. "Thank you!" he groaned as the doors finally opened.
Scott stepped out slowly and began to make his way towards the small health clinic down the hall.
"… Logan…"
Scott stopped for a split second, but not believing what he had heard, he started for the health clinic, his pace growing quicker with each step until he was running. To his surprise the large door to the clinic was wide open. His pace slowed as the two moving figures inside became clearer and clearer. Before he could even realize that he was slowing, he stopped in front of the open door.
A single tear ran down his cheek and he turned away.
Leaving Logan lying on top of his wife, and his heart on the floor.
