James held the Wii remote in his hand, the Nunchuk in the other.

"Quiet down, James! I can hear it all the way from my bed!" said Remus groggily as he slowly stepped into the common room. James was playing Mario Kart (rather loudly, as Remus claimed), and whenever someone entered to shut him up, he always had the same answer.

"Just one more race! Then I'll be done."

"You said that an hour ago! Can you at least turn the volume down?"

"No! Pausing the game would throw off my groove."

"What groove? No one has any groove at…" Remus sleepily glanced at his watch. "Three-thirty in the morning! For goodness' sake, go to bed!"

"I don't care about any sort of goodness or its sake."

"Then do it for my sake."

"Nah. You can sleep through it if you really try."

"I've been trying to sleep for the past four hours!" There was no response from James. Remus continued, "Oh, for your own sake, then, if you don't care about anyone else."

James paused the game, dropped the remote, and, gritting his teeth, turned around to face his friend.

"Okay, you know what?" James said. "I'll quit now. Not because I like people. I'm just doing it to shut you up." He marched to his dorm in a proud, egotistical manner.

"Thank goodness he's done!" said Remus, sighing with relief. He walked over to turn the TV off, and he glanced at the screen. "He was playing Bowser?" he said to himself. "What was he thinking? He should've been playing Luigi." He picked up the remote. "His stats are probably all messed up because he was using a bad player. I'd better fix this."

An hour later, James came storming into the common room and said in an angry whisper, "Remus Lupin, what are you doing? It's four-thirty in the morning! Go to bed!"

"Just one more race! Then I'll be done. I promise."

"I can't sleep because of you!" James was getting angrier and angrier.

Remus' voice was a zombie-like drone as he finished the first lap of Moonview Highway. "Just one more."
