"Spock, wake up"

The voice was that of a young girl whom Spock knew to be fourteen years old.

"Come on, wake up. It's illogical to stay here ay longer Spock, we have to leave."

Spock turned in his sleep. It may be illogical to stay here, but all he wanted to do was sleep.

"Wake up Spock, wake up!"

Spock woke up as he noticed the voice change from that of a young girl to the voice of his commanding officer, Captain James Kirk.

"With how hard it was to wake you up I'd swear you were human!" Jim joked with his Vulcan friend knowing full well that Spock was half human, "I tried contacting your communicator. When you didn't answer I assumed you were asleep and decided to wake you up. You wouldn't be trying to avoid greeting the Vulcan Science Ambassador now would you?"

"That would be most illogical due to my position as chief science officer and seeing as I'm the only Vulcan Starfleet officer on this vessel." Spock replied.

"Well then meet me in the transporter room in twenty minutes for the arrival of the ambassador."

Spock nodded in agreement as Kirk left the room. Why was he hearing her voice in his sleep? It had started a moth ago when the Enterprise received word that a Vulcan science ambassador would be rendezvousing with their ship in a month's time. Logically she could be the science ambassador; she had been the top of her class at the Vulcan Science Academy. Maybe this was why he saw her in his dreams, because it could be her.

Lost in thought Spock was brought out of his inferences when his communicator beeped

"Kirk to Spock"

"Yes Captain"

"You have ten minutes to get down here. What's going on?"

"Sorry Captain I was… preoccupied."

"Well you better get here soon."

"Yes Captain, Spock out"

Well that was the end of that. Why did this worry him? Logically the ambassador could be anyone, and even if it was her what was wrong with seeing her again? What was wrong was last time he had seen her he was seventeen, and she hadn't exactly left him with happy memories.

Five minutes later Spock found himself in the transporter room waiting for the arrival of the Vulcan science ambassador. A speaker on a panel on the wall beeped and soon the voice of Lt. Uhura filled the room.

"Bridge to Captain Kirk"

Spock watched as the captain pressed a button on the panel and replied

"This is Kirk, what is it?"

"The Vulcan ship has arrived, sir. It's hailing us. Ambassador Sarek would like to speak to you Captain."

"Thank you Lt."

"Captain Kirk" said Ambassador Sarek over the speaker, "We are preparing to beam the science ambassador over. And Kirk please tell my son to stop worrying. I have a feeling he is."

The speaker fell quiet as Sarek prepared to send the coordinates. Maybe I should calm down, thought Spock, but the fact that Sarek knew he was nervous just made him more so.

"They're sending the coordinates now." said Scotty who Spock just now noticed was in the room, "Ready to beam aboard."

As the transporter came to life Spock's worry and fear increased. This was illogical, fear of the unknown and possible just wasn't logical. And yet because of his past he hoped the obviously feminine figure now beginning to appear in the transporter wasn't her. It didn't take Spock long to recognize the blonde haired, blue eyed Vulcan woman now standing in the transporter. It was her, it was Alyssa.
