One Heart Two Souls

A/N This is a look into Inuyasha's heart, and a conclusion about the two woman he loves. This is a short poetic fic.

Inuyasha sat on a hill top leaning against a tree whispering into the wind as the sun set over the horizon, casting its golden glow over the sky.

"Kagome, I always cared for you." His white bangs cast a shadow over his face as he chewed on a piece of grass.

"Please try to understand I am in love with Kikyou, as much as I love you…I try to choose, but it seems the harder I try the further away you drift away from me." He turned his face to the side.

"Kikyou, your name is like a virgin on my lips, every time I whisper it I can't help but shiver. You have been haunting my soul for so long, I can't help but love you. Fifty years our love has been put to the test, and then comes another. A counter part of you. My heart tares and cries for the both of you." He spat the shred of grass out at a considerable distance. The sun reflecting in his hanyou eyes.

"I have one wish. If I could, I would tare myself in two and make you both happy. Perhaps if I left, I could give you both a normal life. Kagome could return to her world to fall in love with another and Kikyou could go to the temple and guard the Sacred Jewel from selfish demons like me." A tear slid down his face. "What a coward I have become. Inuyasha you fool, what a wimp…" he scowled casting a half smile to the heavens.

"If I could do anything at all, if I was to gather every shard and wish it to make Kikyou and Kagome happy, would it work? Would it work to give them an artificial glory? Created by the threads of magic? Or would they die and learn the truth in heaven, then despise me for it. It seems no matter where I turn I will leave them heart broken." he placed his hands behind his head, his finger brushing over his ear.

"Kagome was the first person to squeeze my ears. I secretly liked it…I wish she would still do it when I slept. But I have hurt her. Why do I make people miserable!" He stood up running down the hill.

"Can't I make anyone happy!" he ran into a stream splashing himself with cold water. "Can't I make anyone happy?…." Two hands wrapped around him.

"Inuyasha?"

"K..K"

"Did you mean everything you said?"

"K-yes."

"If I stay with you, will it make everything better?" Inuyasha cast his eyes down smiling for the first time.

"I would like that…Kagome."

Maybe….just maybe, Kagome could show me, how to love just one woman…just her. I don't know when I will have the courage to tell you….but I when I'm close to you, I know I love you more Kagome.
