AN: This is really short... Mostly just wrote it for fun. if it gets a positive enough response, I may continue it into a story.
"Xion... Xion..."
"Huh?" The raven-headed girl looked around. Water was flowing past her, but didn't feel the forceful impact, nor the cold temperature that should have been there. Looking down, she saw that she was fully naked, but felt nothing. Everything seemed normal. The fact that she was naked didn't seem to bother her at all.
"Xion..."
The raven-headed girl looked around, her head snapping quickly but softly, trying to find the source of the voice. Instead, all she found was her surroundings. She was at the bottom of a vast, deep river. There were several fish swimming past her quickly, but nothing touched her. There was several drifting plants that waved helplessly in the current, and in several places patched of beautiful sunlight shone through.
"Xion."
"What is it?" she asked, calling out to the water around her. Her voice wasn't deterred by the watery landscape at all, like the rest of her. "Why am I here? Wasn't I supposed to return to Sora?"
"You did, Xion. But what is it you really wanted?"
The incomplete replica thought, closing her blue eyes. She might have just been a replica of someone made from their memories, yes, but the time she spent and her memories were just as real. Roxas gave her a face, and was given her own life to live, no matter how brief it was.
The dream of a memory ran through her head. It was Sora's memory, yes, but her own dream, too. She and Roxas were sitting on a tree, while Axel leaned on it, hands behind his head. The sunset was gorgeous, even more so than in Twilight Town.
"I wanted- want- to be with Roxas and Axel," Xion finally responded, hands delicately touching her collarbone. "But I knew it was better... If I went away."
"Would you like to be with them?"
"Only if it didn't hurt them..." her voice kept trailing off with painful memories, looking down at her toes.
"Xion, you are about to be granted new life. If you can find the thirteen true hearts before you die, you will be given what you want most."
"Thirteen? The Organization?"
"Yes. Find them, and you will have what you want most."
When Xion opened her eyes again, she no longer found herself in the depths of a fast, flowing river, nor was she standing up. Sheets brushed against her bare skin, and she realized at once she was in a bed, her bed. Sitting up, she was able to see what a small body she had, that of a child no older than seven or eight.
The now-child scanned the room. Everything was how she remembered it. Things were either white, soft pink, or baby blue and there were toys strewn about on the floor. Fake memories were filling her mind, along with those of real ones. If she hadn't had that overflowing experience with Roxas before, this could have been very painful.
With her little, wobbly legs, she walked over to the window, and opened it. A cool breeze rushed in, ruffling her hair. Her blue eyes stared out to the window, and she smiled. She'd find those thirteen true hearts, and she'd be with Roxas and Axel, forever.
