I watch the clock as you play,
Not caring about the world, the future.
The way you move through life is like ballet,
Dodging and weaving, never staying put; almost like an anchor.
You came to me, during a time where I needed someone most,
You stayed for a while, but now we drift apart.
The way you move through life, all you do is coast,
And it's like you don't notice how you're like an empty heart.

I fear for you, the way you speak, the way you act,
I fear that one day you may realize all your mistakes;
But, sadly, it'll be too late.
For your acts, your plans, have all but cracked;
Especially the beautiful person you once were.
You're in my life now, but it all just seems like a blur.

You don't realize the pain you bring,
You leave or depart, and all I do is cling;
Hoping that you'll realize your mistakes, before it's too late.
Wake up from the haze you're in,
Before you realize you threw everything in a bin.

It's time to grow up,
Because the lives we live are short.
Please, take a breath and catch-up;
Because it'd be a shame to lose you.
Stop clinging to who you were, all those years ago,
It's time to notice who you really are.

You're lost, boy, and you don't seem to mind,
Walking, no, running through life blind.
I tried to help you, but all you did was ignore,
And now here we are, between us a door.

You're not a child anymore, Peter;
So stop acting like one.

Hey people, sorry it's been such a long time, and you probably weren't expecting a poem to be posted. I definitely admit to having writer's block when it comes to the other stories, To Be Lost and Found and It Started with a Dream. I also admit, I have ideas for another story, and while I started it a while back, and I have the beginning planned out, I won't be going into it until I either finish the two listed above or something.

Anyway, please enjoy this poem, I will be posting others.

This poem was inspired by Peter by Daughter.
