Maybe it was because she had just lost the only man she ever loved; or because she had almost lost the woman she secretly loved for years; or because, after all these years, her parents' influence was finally starting to fade; or because she had decided to stop being what everyone expected her to be and start being true to herself.
Not even she knew what was happening in her mind as she visited Abby, or which of theses factors led her lips to Abby's, her hands to Abby's back as she whispered "I love you". All she knew was that, for whatever reason it might have been, she finally felt free.
