Arwen's Sorrows
Disclaimer: Tolkien owns Lord of the Rings, and New Line Cinema owns the movies I don't.
Arwen was walking very slowly in the faded woods of Lothlorien while tears were pouring out of her eyes. She was lonely because her husband Aragorn has died many years ago. She enjoyed Aragorn's companionship so much while he was alive that it caused her deep sorrow when he died. Her father, Elrond, warned her that she would spend many years grieving for Aragorn, but she love him so much that it was worth going through years of sorrow after he had died. She was glad that they saved themselves for each other for marriage. It was worth the wait.
Arwen wept bitterly for Aragorn for many years, and her heart ached for him, but she put her trust in Iluvatar who gave her strength to endure her sorrows otherwise she would not have been able to endure her sorrows. Her love for Aragorn and the hope of seeing him again also made her grief bearable.
She wished Aragorn was with her at the moment. She longed to feel his arms around her, and to hear his gentle words. She wanted to hear his laughter while they walk together. Her heart was breaking because she knew that it wasn't possible while she was still in middle earth.
She also missed her family, and sometimes wished that she was in Valinor with them, but she did not regret her choice. She loved Aragorn so much, that she knew she would never be happy in Valinor without him.
Arwen has seen the world change. All the elves had either sailed away to Valinor or had died, and the number of dwarves and hobbits dwindled. Most of them died off and the few that were left were hiding. The earth became filled with mostly humans. Aragorn's descendents still ruled Gondor, and most of them were good rulers. Gondor and other cities in middle earth became filled with machines, but Arwen had no interest in machines, she was only interested in seeing Aragorn again.
Oh, Aragorn, I miss you so much, thought Arwen. When will I see you again? When will I hear your laughter and feel your arms around me. I long for the time when we will see each other again.
Arwen felt very sleepy. She laid down on the soft green grass underneath the bare branches of a faded tree and closed her eyes. A few minutes later, she woke up again and saw that the tree was filled with leaves and fruit. She stood up and saw that the other trees were filled with leaves and fruit too. She also saw a variety of flowers growing everywhere. It seemed as if Lothlorien came to life again, but this was not Lothlorien; this was a different place.
Where am I? she thought to herself. What is this place? I know that it is not Lothlorien. Am I dreaming? I know I am not because I feel more alive now than I ever did before.
Another sight met her eyes. Standing in front of her was Aragorn. He was as tall and handsome as he was before, and he still had that look of nobility in him. They stared into each others eyes for a second before they ran into each others arms. Aragorn swung Arwen around. They were so happy, because they were together again for eternity.
The End
