"Why are you so upset about this? You knew when James got married and moved out of town that things were going to change."

You and Levi were sitting on the bed in your room discussing the fact that your oldest son, James, wouldn't be able to come home for Mother's Day this year.

"I guess I just expected that he would still be coming for holidays…"

"His wife has a family too, you know. "

"Why can't she go see them and he comes here?"

"And split up for a weekend? What if we had to do that?"

"We did. For weeks at a time. When you were fighting."

"That's totally different. That was a cause that couldn't be helped. This is Mother's Day."

"You'd care if it was Father's Day and one of your children couldn't be there…"

"I care now. I know you miss him, _, we all do."

"I suppose I'm just…"

"Jealous." Levi finished your sentence.

"He's my baby. I want to see him." You said softly.

"I understand that. But don't forget, Jenna's mother feels the same way about her."

"…I know…"

"Look, _, you've got four other children who will be here. It's not like you'll be alone."

"That won't stop me from missing him."

"I feel the same way. I miss him too. But this is his life. We have to share him."

You let out a sign and plopped your head down against his chest.

"I don't like sharing." You pouted

"You don't have to share everything. Not me." he responded, putting an arm around you, trying to comfort you.

"I know I'm being unreasonable… I just want to be with my children on Mother's Day.

"That's not unreasonable at all. We're all still getting used to this. Christopher will get married soon too, and that will be another change. Life is just a series of changes; you just need to learn how to make the most of those changes."

"It's hard."

"Damn right it is. But that's what we've got each other for. To make it at least a little bit easier."

You snuggled closer to him, placing a hand against his chest next to your face.

"I'm too old for this."

"You're not old."

"I'll be 50 this year, Levi. That's old."

"I'm already older than that…"

"That's different. You've barely even aged."

"Neither have you. Truthfully, you only get more beautiful as the days pass."

"Stop being nice." You mumbled into his shirt.

"I mean it."

"Stoooooooop" you said with a giggle, burying yourself into his chest.

He let out a chuckle at this.

"I just love you soooooooo much, _!" he said, rolling the two of you over so he was on top of you.

"Leviiiii" you said laughing

"So, so, so, SO much!" he repeated, placing sloppy kisses all over your face.

You were both laughing like crazy when you grabbed his face in your hands and directed him to your lips, kissing him lovingly.

"So much." He whispered against your lips.

"He better come home for Christmas…"
