Boredom of A Vampire
(Halloween poem)
I haven't smoked in years,
But today I light one up.
The sun is coming up over the cemetery,
I'm adequately protected;
Hat, sunglasses, gloves.
I wander through here looking at headstones,
Almost envying the decaying bodies underground.
I'm loved, but lonely.
I remember the night you stalked my steps,
I screamed into the night that I didn't want to be one of you.
You drank me anyway.
The first two years were joyous,
We partied during the night
And fucked during the day.
We stalked stupid little girls during the festival
And shared their blood.
But now things have become predictable.
There's nothing to look forward to.
I suggest we hop a night flight to Rio or Japan,
But you've got other plans.
Since there's nothing else to do,
I'll remain what I am:
Vampire princess,
Eternally yours,
Eternally bored.
