Every once a month Mustang and his group, including Edward of course, would all go out somewhere to just let loose and have fun.

They went to something that was a mix of a bar and a restaurant. Classy enough to be called a restaurant yet relaxed enough to be a bar. Luckily minors were allowed as long as they didn't try to buy alcohol.

It was just a simple and fun filled night. There was laughter from everyone filling the entire place. Music was coming in from the jukebox and it was merry.

It allowed the entire group to get together and just relax.

It allowed all Roy and all of his subordinates forget about that day. The paperwork they had to fill out, the meetings they have to go to, the things they had to do. It gave Jean another chance to try to woo a girl only to have Roy charm her away. It gave Riza a chance to smile a bit more and leave her gun in the holster where it belonged.

It gave Edward a chance to forget about the Philosophers Stone, all those fruitless missions, and the stress filled readings spent in the library. It gave him a chance to act like a teenager.

It was like a relaxed family outing. Roy as the father who made sure that everyone had behaved themselves and not try to do anything too stupid.

Riza as the mother who watched over everyone and made sure that no one snuck Edward any alcohol, not that they didn't try.

Edward was the son who joked around with everyone and, to their secret relief and everyone was able to see that as he smiled they could almost see the stress leaving his body temporarily.

Jean and Breda were the cool and fun uncles who when Roys and Rizas backs were turned secretly gave Edward some of their beers or other drink that contained alcohol.

Kain and Falman were the more calmer uncles, although they were also laid-back enough that while they wouldn't give any alcohol to the minor they would turn their heads the other way. They were the ones everyone else tried to set up with other girls but wouldn't be able to get a single word out and blushes over riding their faces.

It was tradition of the best kind. Letting everyone let off steam and act younger, or in Eds case his real, ages.

Something Edward had never noticed, or if he had then he never said anything, notably was the fact that those monthly outings seemed to always happen whenever he was in East City.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Just a small oneshot based on one of my favorites 'families' in FMA.

Hope you guys liked it.
