Alex was not having a good day. Ever since a week ago on his 16th birthday when his dad announced he would be attending School on Acadomia he has been in a bad mood and made it blatantly clear that he did not think he should have to go, and that there was nothing for him to learn there that he could not learn at home.

Alex: "Father, why must I go here. You and mother have taught me all i need to know, and if there is anything I ever wanted to learn I could always ask you or look in our or uncles library."

Father: "Because son, as much as you might think you know everything, that is far from the truth, plus I do not have time to stop my work and help you on a whim, and the libraries here are far more extensive than the ones at home, or even the ones your Uncle has. know listen to me closely. I know you do not wish to be here but you must go for I have already enrolled you. plus your sister is here and I know you do not wish to make her sad."

All Alex could do to respond to this was glare at his father and think of how cheap a shot it was to guilt him into going with his sister.

Father: "Besides in a couple of months after your mother gives birth, she will becoming to teach here, as one of the instructors for the advanced combat classes. I know you will enjoy her class if you get into it. Besides you need to make some friends your own age, and let Daku get back to taking care of his clutch that will be hatching soon. Plus if you do this you will finally get a familiar of your own."

Alex: "Fine i will do this, but only so that i can show you how pointless all of this is. Ill probably be home by the holidays. Also i know fulfill that you could perform the Familiar ceremony with me right here if you wanted to."

Giving a huff he walked away from his father who was chuckling under his breath staring at his back. Unbeknownst to him though he missed his father's final parting words in his departure.

Father: "Good bye son. Grow strong and make some friends that will last a life time. Im sure you'll need them."
