Goodbye Bella

Chapter 1-The Stranger

"Work harder you insulent pest. Pick those plants and take them the the market. You'd better sell them." screamed Charlie, my father.

I dropped the a plump red tomato that I was picking at that moment.

"You're good for nothing just like your mother!!!"

He was as red as the tomato in his face now. I scurried away from Charlie as his foot made contact with my ribs, there was a sickly 'CRACK' sound as a couple of my ribs broke. I began to spew up blood.

"That's right where you belong, in the dirt! Get going to the market as soon as you finish picking these plants." he yelled as he left, spitting at me when turning away.

My name is Bella Swan, daughter of Charlie Swan the chief of police in our town, Forks, Washington. My mother is Renee Swan, the greatest woman I know. Even though Charlie is the chief of police, he does a great job at protecting everyone in town, except his family. After work he comes home and makes our lives a living hell. At night when he thinks I'm asleep he beats my mother, and I fear for her dearly.

"Get going now before he comes back, please Bella." pleaded my mother.

"Okay mom, just be careful. He seems to be in a worse mood than usual."

"I'll be just fine. Now hurry along."

OoOoOoOoOoOoOo

After I got into town, I went straight for the market. There I collided into somebody I'd never seen before, nocking both of us into the ground.

"I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking...are you ok?"

I scrambled to get up on my feet, which I then quickly fell right back down again due to my uncoordination. As the strangers hand reached down to help me get up, I looked at him. His hair was a gorgeous curly brown hair that greater than the sun its self, his smile was a crooked smile that took my breath away and that voice that was kind and caring sounded just like velvet, but the thing that truely captivated and froze all my senses was his liquid golden eyes. They were a truely amazing sight.

"Are you ok?...."

"Bella, Bella Swan."

"Very nice to meet you Bella Swan. Here let me help you."

"Ah! You don't have to, this happens to me all the time."

"I completely insist on helping you, I won't take no for an answer."

"Ah...well....ok. Thank you!"
