Every thing belongs to their respective owners, I don't own any of it.
Based off of Ever After High and the song "I think I got you beat" from Shrek the Musical.
I think I got you beat
Scene: Apple is angry with Raven for not understanding her "complicated" past.
Apple glared at Raven, who only glared back.
"You have no idea what I went through. I had a hard childhood." Apple said.
"Seriously?" Raven smirked.
"My parents left me in a tower for six months!" Apple yelled, her voice cracking.
"Ugh try five years. Apple, you're too spoiled for your own good." Raven said.
"Let me tell you." Apple offered, Raven nodded.
Apple began to sing.
"I had nothing in that tower fighting boredom by the hour
Princess Lonely
A smiley ruse
I had only...
A fake friend or two,
Skin pure white and eye pure blue,
And long blonde hair was cause for stress,
I woke up in a tangled mess,
Every morning "friends" would joke,
And I would only laugh and choke.
It turns out they were all pretending
When all I wanted was some friending!
So...
I think I got you beat, I think I got you beat
Yeah, yeah, yeaaaah,
I think I got you beat, I think I got you beat." She ended with flourish.
Raven raised an eyebrow with a smirk. She opened her mouth and began to sing.
"Oh you think that's so?
That was a sad story,
but I've seen better, I'm just saying.
A for effort, thanks for playing!
Sad to see a princess suffer,
But I'll say, I had it rougher.
Like the time my mom saw my cat,
transformed into a mean old rat.
Then set fire to the poor thing,
My cat she was smoking!
You seem way too whiney,
Mittens had a flaming hiney.
As she flared I had to wonder,
My mother glared like thunder
Would a former cat go to Heaven
Did I mention I was seven?
So...
I think I got you beat, I think I got you beat,
Yeah, yeah, yeaaaah,
I think I got you beat, I think I got you beat." She finished with a mocking bow. Apple was infuriated.
"One warm regard." Apple sang again.
"No Christmas cards." Raven sang, rolling her eyes.
"And every day-" Apple sang, interrupted by Raven.
"Was hell-on-earth day!" Raven finished.
"Well, you ruined my life." Apple challenged.
"I'm supposed to be your father's wife." Raven continued.
"I've never had a real friend." They sang at the same time.
They stared at each other, wondering if they were really as different as it seemed. After a few moments of awkward silence, they shared a hug.
Raven grinned devilishly, and squeezed Apple's hand.
"I think I got you beat, I think I got you beat." She mumbled.
"Yeah." Apple said.
"Yeah." Raven winked.
"Yeaaaah!" They said at the same time. Suddenly, Maddie burst in with an angry look on her normally mellow face.
"Were you guys singing without me?" She fumed.
"Noooooooo." The girls said at the same time.
"Jinx!" Apple said, poking Raven in the chest.
"You can't talk until someone says your name!" Maddie said with a grin.
Raven smiled and the trio settled down for a nice cup of tea.
The End is just The Beginning.
So? What did you think? This is a SongFic one-shot, I was bored and my friend and I were discussing how some songs out of Shrek would work well in explaining emotion in Ever After High. Leave a review if you want more, have an idea, or just want to say hi.
So don't do anything I wouldn't do, but if you do, take pictures.
