Kyoko Morooka was tinkering with a machine, never smiling. Everyone else was chatting and enjoying food together, but she couldn't get in on the celebration. After Densuke and Chiharu won the games, they watched them bathe together from afar. Something about that bothered her.
Kirika walked over to her, eating a thick piece of pizza with the works on it.
"You're not hungry? Or happy? We just won the other day!" she said, smiling as she ate. Kyoko stopped, sighed, and went back to tinkering.
"You always seem mad. Who made you mad?"
The tiny-looking genius glanced in Densuke's direction. Kirika noticed, and said,
"Densuke? What'd he do? I could punish him by beating the crap out of him with my tits or sitting on his head, if you'd like." She grabbed some more pizza and started eating it.
"I don't really know why he makes me mad." Kyoko looked at Densuke and Chiharu, who were smiling, sitting lose to one another, and talking. Clearly, after their hot spring trip, they had grown closer to each other.
"So, he didn't do anything, then?"
"When I heard that he had seen Chiharu's naked breasts at a physical examination, I felt angry for her, and angry at him. Right after that incident is when I met him. I haven't spoken to him much."
"Anything else come to mind?"
She looked at the happy couple again and thought about it hard. She pictured them at that onsen together, washing each other's bodies and even going further than that after the lights went out in their room. She shook her head hard so she could erase the images from her mind. Why did this bother her so much?
"So… you like him, huh?"
Shocked, Kyoko dropped her toolbox onto the ground. The sound was so loud that everyone looked in that direction, totally silent.
"Kyoko-chan, are you okay?" he was the first one to ask out of all the startled and worried people. The fact that he was the first drew her attention, and her dark blue eyes locked with his for a long time. Without looking away from him, she answered Kirika.
"If only that weren't the reason."
