Falman was trying to remember why he thought playing Scrabble was a good idea. They'd stopped playing chess because Barry had grown bored of losing all the time. But of all the other games to pick out, why-- why-- did Falman have to choose Scrabble?

He should have known that Barry would have some sort of demonic control over the tiles. That every time he reached into the little black bag his fingerless hands would somehow draw out the letters that would form another horrendous word. And no matter how many times he would tell Barry to choose some normal words, the next thing he would slam down onto the board would be CLEAVER.

Sighing, Falman neatly placed his own word on the board. INUNDATION. It almost seemed out of place, surrounded by four-letter words related to chopping things up.

Falman tapped his fingers against his knee, waiting for Barry to lay down his next terrible word.

But after a minute he still hadn't made his move. And that's when he realized Barry was staring at him, and probably had been for the entire time.

"...That ain't really a word, is it?"

"It's a real word, Barry."

Barry stared at him for another silent moment, his disbelief seeming to show on his face despite his unchanging expression.

"You've been cheatin' this entire time, haven't ya?"

"I'm not cheating!" Falman shouted, finally reaching the end of his patience.

"It's okay dude, I'm not mad."

"I! Am! Not! Cheating!"

"C'mon, I've never seen a silly word like that before."

Falman stood up abruptly, stomping over to his bookshelf. He ripped a dictionary out of the mess of books, and dropped it in Barry's lap before going to sit back on his side of the board.

Barry groaned but flipped through book anyway. He seemed to be having trouble due to his lack of fingers, until he finally reached the page he assumed he was to be looking for.

Falman glared at him the entire time.

"Well, whadaya know--"

"Read it."

Barry chuckled at Falman's sudden seriousness and slammed the book shut. "Let's just say I was wrong and move on, huh?"

"Fine," Falman shrugged. "But since you were wrong, you have to promise to stop using those creepy words."

Barry drooped his shoulders, letting the dictionary fall to the floor. "Aw! Where's the fun in that?!"

Nevertheless he changed his tactics.

BEDROOM

Falman had to wonder why he hadn't used it earlier, but he didn't have to think hard to figure it out.

BLOSSOM

Barry chuckled to himself.

LOVIN

"Barry. There's a 'g' at the end of 'loving' you know."

"Not in mine there ain't!"

Falman sighed.

"...Need me ta show ya?"

Falman quickly placed his next word.

WARNING

Barry forced the game to a close five turns later, with the word ROUGH.
