Okay, so let me set the scene of this story for you.
I was sent to Japan by my father to attend the elite private academy Ouran high school.
However due to my unique circumstances, in order to live the peaceful and quiet life I desired, I needed to attend under a disguise.
Why? You ask, well up until now I have lived a secluded and controlled life.
My baths were run for me, my food cut up for me and even some days I had to have maids dress me.
It wasn't until I was on a family outing at the age of five did I truly see the difference between my luxurious life and that of my people.
That's correct; you did indeed hear that right.
Formally I am known as Princess Annette of Genovia first in line to ascend the throne, however, there is a slight problem.
I have none of the needed skills to become a princess beloved by her people, I am clumsy, I cannot carry any sort of polite conversation without stuttering, and on top of it all, I hate wearing these big ornate dresses and having to look presentable all the time.
No. I would much rather be out on our land riding our horses or climbing trees, but eventually the maid or manservant I had escaped from would find me and drag me inside tutting at the state of me.
So, this is how I eventually got my father (the king) to agree to let me attend Ouran disguised as an honour student.
This way, no one would attempt to attack me or simply pretend to be my friend because of my status.
I'm looking forward to it so much, up until now I have only ever been home-schooled so having a whole classroom full of new people makes me giddily happy.
However, father is only letting me attend so that I may pick up some useful social skills and etiquette as the school is one of the most elite in the world.
I will admit that when I said goodbye to father and all the maids and servants who had looked after me since I was young, I shed a tear or two.
However, this is something I must do if I am to become a decent ruler of my country.
So here I am, on a plane, on my way to Japan, Tokyo to be exact to begin my life as my people live, by learning to live without help.
I must say it seems like a rather daunting challenge, but one I will accept if it means I can one day ascend the throne a well-loved and wise ruler.
