A/N: I know... Some people might want to kill me but I'm sorry for not updating my other stories. I've lost interest in them but if I ever am bored (which is a lot) then i'll be writing. Don't expect updates every week, I just write whenever I feel like it. If you find any errors in my writing, just point it out and i'll fix it. Thanks!
Robin heard soft sounds that were getting louder coming from the adjoining room. His instincts kicked into drive so fast, his mind didn't catch up to him until he was in front of the door. Quickly checking his face to make sure his mask was covering his eyes, he silently cursed under his breath realizing he hadn't remembered it. Instead of taking the time to try to find it, Robin realized it didn't really matter, not when he had to check what was wrong right this instant.
He stumbled into the room, half asleep and dimly thought that he must look as crazy as the Joker. He did- what with his disheveled hair spiked up in different directions, his eyes mask less and sleep deprived, face pale from the scare so late at night, and his costume wrinkled from falling asleep at the computer, searching for a new villain that had just recently popped up in Jump City. Now that Robin knew what was happening, he frantically searched for the light switch wondering what was taking so long. Finally finding the switch, the blinding light turned on and Robin spent another few seconds trying to see. Once he could see again, Robin half stumbled half walked over to the bed that was in the center of the room.
The figure in the bed was twisting and turning, wrapping the blanket further around itself. It was mumbling, occasionally crying out as if in pain. The figure was obviously suffering from a night terror. Robin grabbed the figure's shoulders and used all his strength to hold it down so it wouldn't hurt itself or Robin.
"Danny, Danny! It's okay Danny you're safe! Wake up!" Robin yelled starting in a whisper but ending in a yell. The figure, who we now know is Danny, shot up like a bullet and almost ended up crash landing with Robin, had he not put a hand on Danny's chest and starting guiding him to lay down. However, instead of lying down, he jumped at the superhero. He wrapped his arms tightly around Robin and burst into sobs.
The burning, agonizing wails were heartbreaking to hear. All Robin could do was, by instinct, wrap his arms around the distressed boy as best as possible and tell him comforting words. As Danny calmed down, Robin leaned closer and whispered to the half conscious child, "It's okay little brother. No one will hurt you any more. I promise"
A/N: I know I leave you with a cliff hanger but I have already completed half of the first chapter so i'll try getting it up quickly.
