Chapter 1

This is my first Fanfic so, please, go easy on the reviews! Hope you enjoy it!

(This is a continuation of Twilight Breaking Dawn.)

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Twilight saga or any of it's characters, but I do own Valentina.

P.S: Sorry it's short, but this is only the first introductory chapter.

(I will carry on if you want me to!)

As Valentina ran, she could see the rain falling around her. She dodged the tiny droplets with ease and smiled slightly as she did, wondering how long it would take for one to catch her out and hit her. If just one could roll down her throat and sooth the unbearable thirst that lingered there, maybe she could carry on, keep going, but she knew she was going to have to stop soon.

With every rustle, every snap of a twig, she went faster. Every noise she heard reminded her of why she was running, and who she was running from. Valentina was getting weaker by the minute, and every bird she saw, every chirp she heard, made the fire in her throat hurt more. She couldn't hunt, she was too tired. Besides, she hadn't seen a human for days. She knew that the Volturi would catch up with her soon, but she'd probably be dead either from exhaustion, or starvation. Either one was better than being there. Jane was the worst one, she thought. She had looked at her like she was a meal. But the Volturi just wanted Valentina for her 'gift' as Aro had called it. She was their pet, and their weapon. But not anymore.

A wave of dizziness brought her to her senses. She looked up, and noticed that the rain had stopped, but as she regained her vision, she had something else to worry about. Because, without realising, she had run straight into the middle of a meadow.

It was fairly large, with a forest of trees surrounding the outline, but it also meant that anyone who was in it could be attacked from any direction. Panicking at that last thought, she looked around and surveyed the trees, trying to detect even the slightest bit of movement, but she was so dizzy that she couldn't tell what was moving and what wasn't. As a ray of light crept over the meadow, Valentina shied from it, and, realising what was going to happen, glanced at her now sparkling skin, which failed to amuse her as it once did. Before she could make a comment about her diamond like skin, another wave of dizziness hit her, knocking her sideways. She knew that she had to get to cover before she passed out, and as she was about to either run back into the seclusion of the woods or climb up a tree, she heard a trill voice ring through the meadow. Startled, she tried to turn, but was met by a blinding headache, that made her wince. Through her now blurred vision, she could make out a small figure walking in her direction, so in a last attempt to run, she stumbled a few steps, heading for the cover of the woods. Then realising she wasn't going to make it, Valentina sank to the floor in exhaustion, as the ground swallowed her up and everything faded to black.
