She was standing at the edge of the cliff overlooking the ocean. What was she going to do now? She knew she couldn't go on like this. Yes she had come home. Home, it felt wrong. She couldn't sleep. She knew she had hurt them.

All he ever wanted was to help her, to be accepted by her. He knew she didn't sleep. He was worried. Worried? Yes, he was scared she could do something stupid. He wanted to talk to her but he just couldn't find the words to express how he felt. So what should he do now?

She returned home, hoping her husband wouldn't notice she'd been gone. No. She couldn't take it, the questions, and the sorry look on his face. She was tired of talking.

He was sitting in the kitchen waiting for her.

"Hey you've been out?" He was right of course. She had been. It was a stupid question.

"Yeah, but..." her voice faded.

He knew he had to say it was now or never.

"Kirsten" he took a deep breath, and tried to look her in the eye.

"What's it Ryan?"

"I, I ... ah ... forget it."

"No, what's going on? You can tell me."

"You just scared me," She looked confused. "I know you've been out a lot of nights and I'm scared you'll drink again"

She closed the gab between them and hugged him.

"Oh Ryan sweetie, don't worry about me. I'm fine. I've just been thinking. If I thought I would let you down again I wouldn't have come home. I don't wanna disappoint you again."

He wanted to believe her. He really wanted to trust her but deep down he isn't sure she won't relapse.
