Roy stood in front of Hughes' grave. He placed the flowers he had purchased earlier that day in front of it.
"Why did you leave me?" he asked to the air.
I'll always remember, it was late afternoon; it lasted forever and ended so soon.
Roy heard footsteps behind him. He turned around to see Riza. He jumped a little, frighten that she had caught him talking to himself.
"R…R…Riza, you scared me," he said nervously.
"You okay, sir?" she asked.
You were all by yourself, staring up at a dark gray sky I was changed.
"Yes…I just miss him," he replied.
"I'm sure you do, I think if I lost my best friend, I might die myself," she said as a sad look crossed her face.
"You wouldn't die, just a part of you would," Roy said, the sentence coming out more meaningful than he had expected.
In places no one will find all your feelings so deep inside. It was there that I realized that forever was in your eyes.
"Yes, I understand," she said longingly wanting to embrace him and tell him it was ok, and that Maes, would live on in his friends and family. Yet a part of her held her back. There was silence.
The moment I saw you Cry
Riza realized he was crying. Something she had never seen him do. Whatever was holding her back was gone. She hugged him.
"It's ok to be sad," she said, feeling like she felt when she had told her younger brother that their father had died. She felt like it was a stupid thing to say, but Roy didn't.
"I know…I know…"he said hugging her back.
"Sometimes we need to show our emotions"
It was late in September and I'd seen you before. You were the cold one, but I was never that sure.
Roy was surprised at Riza's gesture. It seemed very, out of character for Riza. Yet he savored it, enjoyed it, loved it.
"Thank you, for being here, for me."
"I always will be here," she said, "That's a promise."

Riza didn't really know where she would be without Roy. When she had told him that she didn't know what she would do without her best friend she really wanted to say that she did not know what she would do without him.

Riza couldn't contain herself. She started to cry too. She realized how much, she too missed Hughes and how much she needed Roy. She never wanted to be apart from him.
The moment I saw you Cry.
"I'm so sorry, Riza, I made you cry," Roy said. He had never wanted to make her cry. He wiped her tears away.
"It's okay, Sir, I'm your friend, I want to cry, laugh and smile with you."
"Roy," Roy said. "say Roy, there's no need for formalities between friends"
I wanted to hold you; I wanted to make it go away.
He stepped closer to her and embraced her. She hugged him back. He wanted to make her feel better and she wanted him to feel the same.
I wanted to know you; I wanted to make your everything…all right.
He pulled away and smiled. He leaned in and kissed her lightly. She welcomed the kiss and reluctantly let him pull away. Roy realized he wanted Riza all to for himself. He couldn't even picture himself with anyone else. They said their goodbyes and Riza blushed the moment Roy turned his back to walk away. He turned and waved and she smiled and waved good bye back to him.
I always remember it was late afternoon
Rizaknew she wouldn't forget, that one special moment, their first special moment. She secretly wished for more and as she looked towards Roy the next morning, he smiled and she knew there would be more, much more.
