He walked down the street, it was Halloween night yet no one else was around. His golden eyes darted to the forest that bordered the small town. The darkness covering the trees, like a cloak, was intimidating. It made him nervous. He continued to walk on, focused on his destination. Getting home. The sound of footsteps broke through his concentration; he almost froze, almost. The obvious thing to do would not be to stop in the middle of the sidewalk. He concentrated on the sound of the steps, they sounded cautious and quiet. Was the person deliberately trying to mask his footsteps?
The sound of breathing infiltrated his ears. It was rough and shallow, as if someone had just ran a marathon. He turned the corner, risking a glance behind him. The figure was wearing a hood and gave off the color black. His eyes darted forward; the person radiated a feeling of unease and death? He couldn't describe it, he just knew one thing. He had to flee.
Why? Why did he have to go to that stupid party? He could be home sleeping but now he was probably being stalked. The sound of steps got quicker and the breathing got rougher, causing the golden eyed boy to walk faster. Sweat beaded on his face, the breathing was so loud it felt like the hooded person was right behind him.
Suddenly, the back of his neck was grabbed and he was pushed to the ground. His eyes widened and he couldn't move. "Are you Edward?" the person asked. His face was being pressed into the ground, hard, enabling him from answering. "Oh well," the person drawled, "I'll have to kill you anyway." He could feel cold steel of a knife on his neck and his temper kicked in. Why should he have to die? What did he do wrong?
"Why?" He choked out, getting dirt in his mouth.
The person, who was now sitting on top of him, chuckled. The laugh made the hairs on the back of his neck rise. "It's really simple, actually. You're wearing a red jacket and you have blonde hair." That made no sense to the boy. The golden eyed boy was aware of his red coat and blonde hair, so what about it? The hooded person laughed, "I see you're not very familiar with red riding hood. You see, it's my favorite fairy tale." It dawned on the boy, blonde hair and a red jacket; he had to look just like the girl from red riding hood.
The hooded person chuckled again, "The only difference is that you're not going to make it to grandma's house."
A/N: Happy Halloween! Candy to all reviewers!
