Hi, my name is Theo James.

Long story short; my dad is a God

I am going to tell you my story a tale of danger and heartbreak, of thrills and spills,

I live in Manchester, England.

I am now starting my last day before the Christmas holidays.

I woke up on top of the world, it was a week till Christmas and it was the last day of school.

I got out of bed and got dressed I went downstairs had breakfast; as I was going out of the house I heard my mums voice. "Morning Theo, you didn't say goodbye" "bye Mum" "Theo, please try harder at school" "Don't worry mum" She stroked my cheek, "Your dad would be so proud." "If dad is so proud why isn't he here, huh" "Theo-""No mum, Just forget it I'll see you after school". I slammed the door. Mum and I always rowed, it was always about dad, mum told me he left when I was young. She always told me he loved me and hated to leave. If he loved me then why did he leave? I loved my mum and I hated rowing with her but it always seemed to happen

I stopped thinking about it and carried on walking to school.

It is P.E. the last lesson of the day we were doing our speed test.

Before we go on I have to tell you that running is my turf,

I may not be good at football, or cricket, or hockey, but I am a speed demon.

I won all the races again and our P.E. Mr Thorne asked me to stay behind.

He told me he wanted me on the running squad. While everyone else was leaving,

Ryan Williams said, "They must be desperate if they want Theo the jinx James on their squad."

I got called names all the time but I never took heed of them.

Another one of my nicknames is Theo the thick James,

Just because I was dyslexic, and had ADHD. and never seemed to do work properly.

In fact the only class that didn't bore me to death was Classics or Gratin as some people called it

because it covered Ancient Greek and Latin both of which I can speak fluently in.

My only friend was Ash Maple who had a muscular disease in his legs and was a vegetarian

Anyway let's get back to P.E.

"Yes, sir" I said, "Let's get down to business

"Young demigod-"Mr Thorne started before I interrupted him,

"What's a demigod?" I asked, clueless.

"Shut up you stupid boy!" Mr Thorne retorted

What did I do now? I usually angered teachers but I don't know why.

Then Mr Thorne grew into this…giant I could see hairs on his arms and legs and his pointy teeth,

He had tattoos everywhere.

He advanced me, his wild eyes boring into my soul; my first instinct was to run.

I ran to the doors, I got there in less than a second, how did I do that?

Without thinking I ran back to him and punched him as hard as I could, but he knocked me aside and my head hit the wall painfully.

I stood up gasping for breath but Ash my best mate ran in, he had this kazoo or something and started to play it, suddenly vines and branches sprouted out of the ground and started wrapping themselves around his legs.

I ran up to the giant and kicked him in his groin, now that will leave a mark.

He howled in pain and I kicked him again, this time he disintegrated into black dust leaving the smell of burning sulphur.

"Ash what was-"he was gone and I was all alone with only some vines and branches for company.

I walked out shivering the image of the piecing red eyes stuck in my mind.

I texted my mum I was going to Ash's house, I needed to talk to him about what happened in the gym.

I decided to take the shortcut through the forest.

I kept hearing things likes branches falling and twigs being snapped, I felt someone was following me. I started jogging which turned into running, I felt the wind rushing past me faster and faster, I looked around me everything was a blur. I got out of the forest and tried to stop, tried being the key word I tried to skid to a stop but I tripped and landed in a tangled heap on the ground. I quickly dusted myself of and walked the rest of the way. I knocked on the door,

"Theo," he said nervously, "what are you doing here?"

"I need to talk to you," I said "Talk to me about what?" he replied nervously

"What happened at the gym?" "Nothing happened at the gym"

"Ash, I know when you're lying."

"There was a monster and you helped me kill it and I think I've got super speed"

"Theo I think you need to leave, now"

"But Ash"

"Go Theo"

He pushed me out the door and slammed it in my face. I started to walk home when I saw a billow of smoke. Someone must be having a barbecue. But then I thought again, it's the middle of winter who would have a barbecue at this time of the year.

I ran to see what was happening. I saw what was happening and the world stood still. I saw my house, and it was on fire.
