REMEMBERING KATHY

DISCLAIMER

This came to me after attending the Hazzard Homecoming and takes place directly after the scene in the "Hazzard In Hollywood" movie where Bo and Luke were discussing how Luke had let Anita slip away. Mentions Katherine from the Vampire Diaries which belongs to L.J. Smith and the CW. We know that Katherine had actual feelings for Stefan and told him that he had to let himself feel something despite what Klaus had done and I wondered what would happen if she fell for someone besides Stefan, so that's partly where this came from. Dukes Of Hazzard belongs to Warner Brothers.

After their talk, Bo let out a sigh as he stared at Gabby. Then he took a locket out of his jeans pocket. It was a heart with an antique design and the initials K.L. Missed chances. He knew all about them. Not that anyone knew that or that Kathy had been a missed chance. Far from it. It was more like a chance that could never pan out. Bo let out a soft laugh. Kathy. He had met her a little after he had joined the NASCAR Circuit. Actually, her name had been Katherine. Katherine Lanier she had called herself, though he preferred to call her Kathy. Bo smiled to himself. She had been fun, exciting, and a great supporter of his racing dreams. However, she had had one heck of a secret. One that he had found out after he had had a bad wreck…she was a vampire. He had crashed during a race, and had been greatly injured. For whatever reason, Kathy had decided to give him her blood to save him. After that, she had come clean about being a vampire and he had been surprised when she had given him an old-fashioned locket that she had told him contained an herb called Vervain that kept her from compelling him and had made him promise to never take it off of his person. He wasn't sure why she had done that for him, as he had gotten the feeling that she had never done it before, but he hadn't been about to complain. And from that day forward, he had kept the locket either around his neck or in his pocket. Oh, Kathy, he thought to himself. He could've had it all with her: love, passion, excitement…but he never would've made it as a vampire. He wasn't squeamish and he loved all sides of Kathy, including her vampire side. Heck, he hadn't even been afraid when he had caught her feeding. But it hadn't been enough for them. Kathy didn't want to be tied down and people were starting to notice that she wasn't aging. And he wasn't interested in forever, which she seemed to know. So, she had left. Bo sighed again. There was no sense in dwelling in the past. They had both made their decisions and he had done his best to move on, though it hadn't been easy. But now with Gabby…Bo let out a soft laugh. Maybe with Gabby he could move on. Maybe he wouldn't be stuck remembering Kathy. Maybe…
