Lockheart: The Story Behind the Teeth
*Just my point of view, if you don't like him don't flame me, if you do, don't flame me. I'm not really sure how this is gonna work out, so just bear with me here... short, don't expect chapters or anything...just a little whim!;)*
I am a nobody.
My life has been a living hell, and who do I have to thank for it?
Harry Potter.
Boy, that boy would have been getting a long list of enemies these days.
If he hadn't messed up my memory, and hadn't made that stupid charm backfire, I would still be famous and sought after.
Instead, I've had tomatoes been thrown at me since that day that I was revealed to be a phoney.
Well, I wasn't a phoney.
I did a lot of work to get me where I was, then that boy spoiled my life and my fun.
I had women bowing at my feet, men throwing money at me. Everyone loved me.
Then I was revealed.
Stupid, rotting boy.
He got what he deserved.
Killed by Lord Voldemort, only three years after he ruined my life.
If only that day had come sooner, before he could ruin my reputation.
Useless boy. People told us that he was our saviour.
Then he went and got killed.
He let me down, then let us down.
I mean, what had I ever done to him to make him hate me so, so much as to want to ruin my career?
Well, now I have nothing.
I am a nobody.
I have no life, no family, no love.
My looks are gone, they wasted away with my fame.
So, now, as a greying old man, I approach that wretched boy's gravestone.
I kneel before it.
I scoff lightly, "The boy who lived. Ha."
I closed my eyes and remembered that time that I had everything.
Then I remembered the first time that boy walked into my life.
I knew he didn't have a father.
I tried to help him, mentor him, tutor him.
Instead of saying a mere thank you, he turned his back on me.
Then he died.
He died in the arms of his lover, he died happy.
They are together now, that foolish but ever so smart girl that helped him through everything.
I know that she fancied me, but she, as well as the rest of the population of the female wizarding world, moved on.
I would say she moved on to better things, but instead she moved on to the boy that would end up dying in her arms, and her tears that blinded her would not shield her from that same curse headed her way.
They are buried, side by side.
Too young to even know what love was, but buried like they were married, that they would stay together for eternity.
That was years ago now...must be twenty.
If they had lived, that would mean that they would probably have kids by now.
Kids that would never know or hear the name of Gilderoy Lockheart.
Thanks to that boy, I am nothing.
A rotting corpse with nothing to call his own except his memories, fully restored.
My name is Gilderoy Lockheart.
I am a nobody.
