ERZA'S CAKE
A Short Story
"Erza-san?" Wendy Marvell one day asked.
"Yes, Wendy?" Erza Scarlet, or Titania, replied.
"Why do you love strawberry cake so much?" Wendy inquired.
Erza laughed and said, "Well...it all began many many years ago…"
ERZA'S POV
"Many years ago, when I was back with Jellal and the gang as children, we were stuck in a large cage. We had no happiness except for each other's company. We were fed scraps that the guards didn't even want. We were all scum to them, nothing at all."
"But Jellal, being the sly bastard he was, decided enough was enough. So he snuck out the cage by using magic and didn't return for an entire day."
"All of us were so lonely and toyed around with our magic for a while but even that made us more upset. If Jellal was here, he would make us so happy by imaging to be pirates or ninjas or even real wizards, which ironically I am."
"At midnight of the next day, Jellal returned, grinning like a fool. He held up and entire strawberry cake, full of cream and fresh fruit. We couldn't believe our eyes. All of us wanted to eat the cake super fast, but level headed Jellal said that we should wait and save some. He let us enjoy a quarter of the cake every day, until there was only one sliver left."
"The other members in our gang were all busy with training, so they didn't notice that it was cake time. Only Jellal and I did since we were that hungry. So he slid out the cake and cut it into two pieces; one for him and one for me."
"So, Wendy that is why I love strawberry cake so much. It was the first time Jellal and I really connected."
REGULAR POV
"Wow!" Wendy replied with sparkles in her eyes.
"Speaking of strawberry cake… Mira! Can I get some cake please?" Erza asked with her fork pointing to the sky.
"Mmm… Sorry, Erza. We ran out this morning. I think Natsu, Gray, and Happy were eating the last pieces. We're coming in with a new shipment later- ERZA!" Mirajane responded shaking her cloud white hair as she washed the dishes.
Mira tried to stop Erza, but it was too late. Erza was already on her way to crushing the boys.
"MY...MY STRAWBERRY CAKE! GRAY FULLBUSTER! NATSU DRAGNEEL! HAPPY! YOU WILL PAY!" Erza cackled with a terrifying gleam in her eyes.
Erza stamped over to the table where the group were enjoying a delicious dish of strawberry cake, only to be interrupted by Titania.
"DID YOU EAT MY STRAWBERRY CAKE?!" Erza exclaimed.
"Ah, Erza. Sorry. I heard from Mirajane that we ate the last pieces. Actually, if Ice Brain didn't take the last piece, then there would be a slice of cake for you," Natsu answered as he chomped on another forkful.
"GRAY FULLBUSTER…" Erza cried out.
"Hrm? Is Flame Head trying to lay the blame on me? If you're playing that game, blame it on Happy. He ate the last piece. Actually, he took the last piece, and he doesn't even eat cake!" Gray shot back with a glare.
"HAPPY…" Erza menacingly whispered.
"WHAT?!" Happy hollered. "I only took it cuz Natsu said he wanted another piece! Blame Natsu, Erza!"
"NATSU DRAGNEEL…" Erza glared with a dagger in her hand.
"Ah...Ah… IT WAS ALL LUCY'S FAULT!" Natsu nervously pointed.
"Hm?" a confused Lucy asked.
"NATSU DRAGNEEL… Do not blame your dire mistake on Lucy! She's not even eating!" Erza laughed. "SO NOW YOU WILL PAY...AGAIN!"
Natsu and Erza ran in circles as Erza requipped her armor and Natsu put fire on his hands.
"So… It was because of Jellal, huh Carla?" Wendy asked.
"Yes, Wendy," Carla responded.
"Thank you, Erza-san!" Wendy stated with a large grin.
"Anytime, Wendy, anytime." Erza agreed as she continuously chased Natsu.
