summary: Draco comes back to school and is shunned for causing dumbledore's death. Ginny sees him run into a girls lavatory and they discuss what happened last year (its better than it sounds)

She entered the Great hall and sat at the gryffindor table next to harry, ron and hermione. It was her 6th year and she was very lucky to have been able to come back to hogwarts after what happened to dumbledore. More than half he students had left. She saw Luna heading towards them. "Did you have a good summer?" Luna asked as she fiddled with one of her radish earrings.

"Not bad, a little boring though. We weren't allowed to leave the house much" ginny replyed "Mum's been going mad about securety now the dumbledore's gone."

"You know dad wrote and article about how Nicalos Smith predicted that dumbledo-" But luna didn't finish that sentece. The great hall was overcome with silence. They turned around to see a pale boy whome she knew to be Draco Malfoy. But he didn't look the same as he did before. He was paler and had a greenish tint to his skin. And he had dark circles under his eyes as if he hadn't had a full nights sleep in weeks. He was much thiner and he had a frightened look about his face. Many students looked scared at the sight of of malfoy. A lot of them booed and threw bit of their meal at him. Malfoy looked down and walked to the corner, pretending not the notice the peas being pelted at him.

"He's got some nerve, coming back after what he did! git" ginny hear ron say from he other side of harry.

"But why?" Harry replied "He's a death eater. Shouldn't he be off toturing muggles or something, not here at hogwarts?"

They continued to talk about this but ginny wasn't listening, Harry's words reapeting themselves in her mind. "Shouldn't he be off toturing muggles or something, not here at hogwarts?". Could it be, maybe he's not a death eater anymore? Perhaps he turm from guilt or he was being forced into it in the first place?.

Ginny pondered over this for the her first 3 classes, until she spotted Draco run into a girls bathroom. With a mixture of sympathy and curiosity, she opened the bathroom door. Malfoy was looking into the mirror inmtently.

"It's hard, isn't it?" Ginny asked

"What?"

"Looking at yourself in the mirror after what you did"

Malfoy looked like he was fighting with himself over whether or not to answer. "This is a boy's lavatory. Why are you in here?" He was obviously avoiding the question.

"Actually its a girls. You ran into the wrong one"

"oh, well, I guess I should go" But ginny held the door closed

"It wil get better, you know"

"You mean eventually my friends won't be scared of me and the kids won't throw things at me?" Draco said angrily

"Have you given them any reason to?"

"If your going to tell me what a bad person I am for letting dumbledore die, I really don't need to here it."

"You didn't kill him"

"I mind as well have. I let all the death eaters into hogwarts. I disarmed dumbledore and led snape right to him. Its all my fault"

"If you haven't forgiven yourself, how can you expect other people to forgive you?"

"How would you know?"

"Because I felt the same way you did after I opened the chamber of secrets." There was silence for several moments until Ginny cracked open the bathroom door and looked out. "Coast is clear" And she opened the door and gestured for Draco to leave.
