Winry Elric tossed and turned in the bed she shared with her husband, Ed. For a reason unknown to her, her body refused to sleep; Regardless of the fact that she was dead tired. And what did not help was the chilled feeling that washed over her. She was bundled tightly on a goose- feather bed; Yet she felt cold and uncomfortable.
And this wasn't a new bed. She had slept here for months, and the only new thing was Ed. She turned, puzzled. She sat up with a sigh. She was startled as Ed woke from his sleep, doing likewise.
"Winry," Ed asked, his voice laced with the softness of sleep. "Why aren't you sleeping?" Winry sighed.
"I just can't fall asleep!" She said.
"Why?" Ed asked, concern lacing his voice. Winry sighed once more.
"I don't know." She said. "I feel cold, and uncomfortable." Ed looked deep in thought. A blush crept across his face. He pulled his new wife's head to his chest.
"What?" Winry blushed.
"Just listen to my heartbeat." Ed said. Winry listened to the deep thudding. She was asleep moments after they lay down. A content smile crept along Ed's face. He could get used to this.
