Alicia was devastated. They hadn't been enough. They'd i lost /i . Alicia wasn't very good at losing, she hadn't really done it often enough to be an expert. With football, she'd always been the first one picked; she'd always been the best. But this year, they just weren't.
She wasn't going to cry, but she was upset. So were Angelina and Katie, Katie was slowly tying her shoes and Angelina was lying on the bench humming softly to herself, neither of them seemed particularly upbeat. Ravenclaw had steamrolled them, without Harry as Seeker, they'd lost easily, even though everyone had put up a great effort on the team. Katie had easily had her best game yet, she had outscored both Angelina and Alicia.
"Oliver is going to kill us, isn't he?" Katie asked, pulling her knees up under her chin.
"It's no ones fault," Angelina replied, her voice hollow. "You had a smashing game."
"It wasn't good enough," Katie told them. "Maybe if I'd gotten away from-"
"It was more than good enough," Angelina told Katie. "Ravenclaw is good and not having a Seeker killed us."
"Yeah, but I don't think Harry's that thrilled about being in the hospital wing," Katie said. "I just hope Wood doesn't kill me."
"Why would he?" Angelina asked, sounding skeptical. "Like I said before, you had a brilliant game. Ravenclaw is good. Not having Harry for Seeker is what did it."
"I hope Harry is okay," Alicia said, thoughtfully. They'd heard the rumours about him facing Lord Voldemort in the dungeons, but Alicia wasn't sure if she believed them. Such things didn't happen in the Muggle world, so it was hard for her to believe that they would happen here.
"I think he should be," Katie replied. "Madame Pomfrey is really good. My dad said that she used to be a Healer at St. Mungo's."
"Yeah?" Alicia asked.
Katie nodded.
"Maybe we can visit him later, yeah?" Alicia asked.
"Sure," Katie replied. Angelina shrugged.
"We should probably get out of here," Angelina said. Alicia checked her watch; they'd been changing for half an hour. "Time to face our doom, eh?"
Alicia nodded. Her thoughts turned once again to the game and she wanted to puke. She just hoped everyone else wouldn't point out that they just hadn't been enough, she especially didn't want Wood to think that. He was their Captain, he could kick them off the team and she really didn't want that.
