Disclaimer: Not one of the Bladebreakers belong to me. I am making no profit off of this, and so on. Oh, title's from Alanis Morissette.
AN: Er.. don't ask where this came from. It just popped into my head and demanded to be written. This is yet another attempt at humour from me. I think I have block on every single story I've ever written so now I'm writing Beyblade one-shots. Enjoy and please review.
You Oughta Know
Kai raised an eyebrow, Rei's jaw dropped and Max almost choked on his gum.
Kenny was the first to move, patting Max on the back until the blond spat the gum out. Unnoticed, it bounced off the plates on the table for a moment and finally came to a stop in front of a smiling Tyson. The grin disappeared, though, when Tyson noticed none of his friends were smiling as well.
"What?" he asked, glancing around each of the team in turn. "What'd I do?"
Kai hid his smirk by reaching for his glass of water and taking a sip. With his other hand, he reached up and snapped Rei's jaw closed. This seemed to bring the Chinese boy out of his shock long enough to splutter, "You d-did what?"
"I told you," Tyson said, grinning again at everyone. "I got a dog."
Kai had to bite his lip to keep from bursting out laughing as Max fainted. Kenny wasn't far behind.
"Guys?" Tyson asked, confusion spreading over his face. "What's wrong?"
Rei turned to Kai.
"Did he just say what I think he just said?"
"He got a dog," Kai clarified and watched with amusement at the look of confusion on Rei's face.
"I thought so." Rei turned away and looked like he was about to say something. He stopped and frowned down at Tyson – who was squatting on the floor trying to shake Max awake - and then turned back to Kai again and said, "He did just say what I think he just said, didn't he?"
"Yeah," Kai answered and took another sip of water to hide his amusement. "He did."
Of course, Kai didn't mention the fact that Tyson had dragged him along as well and helped him choose which dog he was going to get. And Kai definitely wasn't going to mention they were moving in together, he really doubted their friends could handle the implications of that sentence, given their reaction to Tyson's dog.
