Title: Truth
Summary: So many lies. (Tell the truth.)
Pairing: Warrick/Tina, one-sided Warrick/Cath
Rating: PG-13
A/N: Thanks to Kelly for the beta.
He really likes being married. (Lie.) There are no doubts in his mind about the rash decision. (Bigger lie.) He's happiest when he's with Tina. (Three in a row – going for a record, Mr. Brown?)
Warrick never wonders about Tina working with her ex (only on days that end with 'y'). He's content (in the 'stressed out' way) and married life agrees with him (if 'it's insane and suffocating' are agreeable).
She never enters his mind (Catherine, so beautiful, so intelligent). He doesn't think about what she said. (Her fantasy? His, too.) He doesn't ponder might have beens (what if?) and he definitely doesn't regret (only when he thinks).
Outwardly, Warrick is calm, collected (always Mr. Cool – don't you wish) and no one suspects anything's wrong. (No one? Tina does. Of course she does.) He's perfectly fine (all right, a-okay – yeah right; he hasn't been since the incident). No one needs to worry (he wonders if anyone does anyway – if she does).
After all, Nick's safe (but changed, he's seen it) and he's living life (married, got to take a chance – what if it's the wrong chance?). That thing with Catherine was unexpected (completely astonishing – she felt the same?) but flattering (amazing, terrifying) and unimportant (groundbreaking, astounding, un-fucking-believable).
It was only fantasy.
(Fantasy sucks.)
He's living in the real world.
(Reality bites.)
What else could he do?
(Tell the truth.)
