Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or related stuff. Rumiko Takahashi does… wow… She could make Sesshoumaru do whatever she wants. Hehehe, he's lucky she isn't a hopeless fan girl like me!
Author's Notes
Reviews are great!
This probably won't be a one shot, I think there will be 2 chapters. I will declare it the end of the story when it is over, so no worries, no wondering wether it's over or not.
"Speaking" 'Jaken thinking'
Why?
"Jaken-sama? Why is the sky blue?"
"What? What are you talking about?" Jaken stared at Rin as though she were crazy.
"The sky. It's blue."
"Of course it's blue! It's always been blue! It will always be blue!" Jaken squawked. 'Oh no… I don't like where this is going! That baka can go at it all day! What'll I do?' Jaken looked around the clearing frantically in hopes of an escape, with no luck. 'I can't just leave, Lord Sesshoumaru said I must watch Rin, and we have to stay here. My only hope is to-'
"It wasn't blue last night. Why was it not blue then?"
"Because it was night!" 'Where was I? Oh yes. My only hope is to-'
"Why is the sky different in the day and at night?"
"Because it is the way of things!" 'I have to distract her, but how? If it isn't a task she'll just start asking questions about it, but the chores are all done and we can't leave to-'
"But why is it the way of things?"
"Baka ningen, it just is! Just as you change and grow and chatter constantly, the sky changes between day and night. It's just so!"
"Why do I change and grow?"
"GAH!" Jaken stormed away, right up to the edge of the clearing, and had just raised his foot to step into the forest, when he paused. 'No, I mustn't leave. My Lord said to stay and I will obey. But how do I deal with-'
"Jaken-sama?" The imp demon took a deep breath, before facing the curious one.
"Yes, Rin?"
"You did not answer my question."
"Oh." Rin waited expectantly, but got no reply.
'Maybe if I'm quiet she won't-'
"Jaken-sama? Why do you not answer?"
"Because I'm hoping if I don't you'll stop asking questions."
"Oh!" Rin giggled sweetly. "You're silly, Jaken-sama."
Jaken didn't respond.
"Jaken-sama?"
Silence.
"Jaken-sama?"
Silence. Rin walked up to the little imp, very quietly, sneaking up behind, tiptoeing as she went, and got right behind his ear, and…
"Jaken-sama!"
"Ahh! What? What is it?"
"Why is the sky blue?"
