Happy Mother's Day
Summary: Syaoran writes a letter to his mother on Mother's Day.
Disclaimer: I don't own CCS. Happy Mother's Day to all.
Syaoran started pacing around a desk. The bane of his existence was staring at him from the desk. It was a blank piece of paper.
"I just don't know what to say." He said aloud, running a hand through his unruly chestnut hair.
"Just write what's on your mind, Syaoran." Sakura told him from the couch. He looked into her emerald eyes and smiled. Though she couldn't move in her condition, Sakura could still wrangle him with her words. "She will be glad just to receive something from you."
"Alright! I'll get to it." Defeated, Syaoran got to work on the letter. Putting a pen to the paper, he began to write.
Dear Mother,
By the time that this letter reaches you, it will be the second Sunday of May and that means that it's Mother's Day. So, Happy Mother's Day! I hope that this letter finds you well. I wonder what you are doing on this day. I am sure that you are busy with the Li Clan elders preparing for me to lead the clan.
I thought of many things to get you on this day. One thing that came to my mind was flowers, but I don't remember which ones you liked. Plus you own an entire garden of beautiful flowers and trees. I am sure that you didn't need anymore.
I thought of some chocolate, but there were two things off with that idea. One, you don't like anything sweet, especially chocolate. I remember when I was young and I got you some chocolate for Mother's Day, you smiled and ate them all with a smile. But you got sick afterwards and that made me feel guilty. You told me that it wasn't my fault and not to worry about it. Then, there's the second reason. If I bought chocolate, between me and Sakura, there wouldn't be anything to send.
A card seemed so impersonal. The words on the cards just didn't speak of what I really felt and that made me not buy one.
So, I am writing you this letter.
I have to thank you. For one, you gave me life and for that, I could never repay you. You educated me and taught me in the ways to go. Yes we had our arguments, but that has never stopped me from loving you. But most of all, you sent me to Japan and that's where I met Sakura. It may have been only for Card Captor business, but it turned into something more very quickly.
We have been together for three years and married for two months now. (Right now, Sakura is sending her love through the letter.) It is because of you that we are together.
And so, I thought that I would tell you the good news. By next year, you will be a grandmother and a little bundle of joy to take of.
And now, Sakura is having a food craze and I have to go.
I love you, mother.
With love,
Syaoran and Sakura.
Syaoran folded up the letter and placed it in the envelope. He looked at his wife and caressed the bulge on her stomach that contained new life. "I love you, LiSakura." With that, he kissed her on the lips.
"I love you,Li Syaoran." She moaned in response..
On Mother's Day in China
There was a scream reverberating through the Li complex. Wei ran to his mistress's side. "Li-dono, are you feeling alright." He asked.
She smiled at the aged butler. "Everything is alright, Wei. It's just that I learned that I will be a grandmother." Wei had to smile. That was the greatest gift a mother could get on Mother's Day.
Yes, Happy Mother's Day indeed.
Owari.
Yeah, I know that it's a day late but it works. Hope that you treated your mother's well. (Shameless plug) If you liked this story, please read my other CCS story, Sen no Kotoba. Peace! I'm out.
