It was a nice quiet day on Inkwell Island, with Cuphead and Mugman running around at the speed of sound. Suddenly the two cup themed boys stopped in their tracks by the first island's edge, to see a strange sight that they hadn't seen before in their lives.
"What the... a skeletal reptile?" Cuphead gawked in disbelief as the red clad young man couldn't believe his eyes.
"A mushroom girl?" Mugman gasped in dismay as the blue clothed male of youth was shaken not stirred.
The two humanoid boy cups then turned to each other as they placed their hands on their faces. "...and another mutant plant?"
"Hey! You two look mutated yourselves!" Petey Piranha snapped as he pulled himself from out of the ground, having crashed there earlier as he shook his bulbous head.
"To be fair, they seem to be inhabitants of this world," Dry Bowser pointed out as he placed some of his disoriented bones into their proper spots.
"I wanna hug them both! They look so cute!" Toadette exclaimed as she twirled around, giggling.
Cuphead and Mugman glanced at each other as they were wondering what to do. They then shrugged, deciding to do the only thing they'd know how to do... shot the strange beings.
This would prove to be a fatal mistake.
