She had always been bad luck…….Never one to win nor one able to fit in.

But why was he taking a chance on her?

He talked with her, laughed with her, and what? She had thrown it in his face everytime and yet, she still didn't push away his words from her mind completely.

She had stood there in the night, the warehouse beside her, thinking upon those words he had spoken.

Jinx? Are you…….you?

She could remember her real name, barely, a bittersweet memory around her parents when she could remember them, before her powers came into play.

But that was nothing more than a dusty photograph from her mind. If she ever replayed the scene it seemed to always be either in black and white or an old-type of movie film, splotchy and scratchy from too much usage.

You could be so much better.

She could and now as she wandered amongst the cold streets of Jump City, she understood his words. Watching the non-mutants, the ones who depended on the superheroes to save her, especially the ones down on their luck like her, made her realize that she didn't have to help them directly, but indirectly she could.

She had been faced with a number of gangs trying to kill in alleyways in front of children. It was something she had always condoned in the Hive Five, one of the few good traits she had ever had known to others. She did not tolerate people hitting younger children.

See you do have some good in you after all.

Blargh. Speed-o could just shove it, she surmised. Walking off, she didn't return to the lair with a ruined room of unicorns, nor to any place to do a theft. She just walked, feet pounding the earth softly, treading with the practiced ease of a traveler.

By the time she had noticed where she was at, she had been at least a mile or so out of the city, her mouth scowling as she realized that she didn't have many choices to start a new life.

Where would I go? What would I do?

Those words she had uttered were true and as she stood there for only a few seconds, she decided that this time, she wasn't going to be the one with the bad luck. She was going to go home, wherever that home may be, returning a quick glance over her shoulder to Jump City, to only remove that sight from her gaze with a pair of blue eyes.

"Going somewhere?"

"My boots were made for walking, and that's just what they'll do."

"What else would they do?"

"I'm going to one day just go ahead and kill you, Kid."

"Not before I give you this, right?"

"…………thanks."

"Welcome. So………about those unicorns……."

Watching the speedster, a wry grin on her blushing face from anger and a little attraction, Jinx decided something then and there. Kid Flash was the one who helped her make her destiny, so he was the one who was going to be jinxed.

All finished. YAY! I loved Lightspeed. Jinx is really the only real reason why I tend to watch Teen titans, her and Raven and now Kid Flash. I hope they show a little more on them, if not oh well. So sad, I heard there's no sixth season.
