For You, For Me

Newp, I haven't lost the urge to do poetry it just comes and goes depending on my mood. In this one it's Erik and Christine.

The sands of time are running thin
Alone I question where I've been
I swept the stars from the skies
I kissed the blood tears from your eyes
I raised you high when you felt low
I offered shelter when there was no place to go
I laid your demons down to rest
And kissed the heartache from your chest

But all that I did was not nearly enough
You wanted more than just my sweat and blood
And after you devoured the sweetest parts
You shackled my soul and ridiculed my heart
Desecrating all that was pure and good in me
Until all that was left was in bitter mockery
Seeking angels to pull their wings
Caging the bird you wanted to sing

And when you left, the night sky shattered
The moon cracked and the stars scattered
Mimicking the turmoil in the skies
Were the blood tears wrenched from my eyes
Unlike you, I had no one to kiss them away
And still they pour to this very day
Eating like acid through my flesh
Drawing me to demise with every breath

Oh, but I lowered the moon for you
Lived, breathed, toiled and died for you
