Summary: Danny can't sleep so he goes out for a stroll.
Midnight Stroll
It had been a rough day at work for Danny Messer. He was so tired that all he wanted was to go to bed. He didn't even want to eat, he was that tired. He lay in bed for a couple of hours, tossing and turning, and as tired as he was, for some reason he couldn't sleep.
"Damn". Danny muttered to himself, stumbling out of bed. "Can't even sleep, it doesn't make sense." He went to his closet and grabbed a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and put them on. When he can't sleep, a walk in Central Park always seems to soothe his nerves.
Central Park was only 5 blocks from his apartment and he made it there in no time. Walking by the fountain seemed to soothe him, the sounds of the water splashing at the bottom of the fountain was better than any sleeping pill he had ever taken.
He makes it as far as Strawberry Fields when he heard somebody called out his name. Danny slowly turned around and either it was the lack of sleep but he could have sworn Lindsay was walking the path behind him.
"You can't sleep either, Danny." Lindsay said, sleepily. "I can't either." Danny waited for her to catch up with him before he spoke. "Yeah, I can't either," Danny explained, "I come out here when I can't sleep, it seems to have this affect on me."
Lindsay stopped right in her tracks. "You mean, you come out here too?"she said, smiling. " I come out here all the time." Danny gave her a big smile and licked his lips. "Well, maybe we should run into each other more often."
And with that, Danny and Lindsay walked back to the fountain, arm in arm, and forgetting that they couldn't sleep at all.
