Loyal through and through
The warm spring sun bathed the small town of Ponyville, no clouds in site to shield the beautiful sheen of light. As ponies of all ages rejoiced in the first sunny day in months, a rainbow formed in the sky, rocketing from cloud to cloud, dispersing them into white tufts that drifted away on the cool breeze.
As the final cloud disappeared, the cyan mare that had disposed of them glided over the town, a small grin and ever burning determination in her rosy eyes.
"Hah! New record!" she called out, doing loop-de-loops across the now bare sky. "seven seconds flat!"
At the sound of clapping she looked below her.
Two mares stood on top of a nearby hill, the first, an orange earth pony, was waving her Stetson hat at the Pegasus. The other, a purple unicorn held a book with her magic, reading it once more.
Rainbow Dash flew down and landed in front of the pair. "Hey guys, what's up?"
The unicorn tore her eyes from the book, levitating it over to her friend. "I just got this at the library, I thought you'd like to check it out." She said, smiling.
The cyan mare took one look at the book before instantly grabbing it with a zealous excitement.
"The Wonderbolts tricks and skills hoofbook!" she squealed in a very uncharacteristic manner, before tearing off into the sky.
The earth pony sighed, a nagging feeling of worry burying itself in the pit of her stomach as she watched her friend depart " Ah think ya'll gonna regret given' her that book, Twilight." She looked over to her companion, seeing her worry reflected in the librarians purple eyes.
"I thinks so to, AppleJack, but whatever happens, we'll come through together."
That sentence made the worry bury itself deeper. Somehow, ah don' think it's gonna be that simple, the apple farmer thought.
A few hours later found the Pegasus standing atop a cloud, looking over the area she had chosen for her newest trick. She glanced over the book once more, before nodding, closing it, and walking to the edge of the white surface.
Rainbow took a deep breath. Okay Dash, you can do this. She told herself. An unnervingly familiar feeling was floating in her stomach. The same thing she felt before the best young fliers competition. Taking another deep breath, she leapt of the cloud before she became too nervous to do so.
As she plummeted she went over the steps in her head.
First, a Falling Ascent, , just before planting herself in the earth, she pulled up, making a large vertical U turn and flying high above her previous perch.
Second, a Drill Bomb Drop, as she reached the height at which it was noticeably harder to breath, she snapped her wings shut, causing her to fall again. Then she began to spin, a coil of air forming around her and she went.
Third, a Tornado Tunnel Trek, as she neared the ground again she pulled out her wings, allowing her to control her decent, but she still spun. Soon she leveled out with the ground, the wind she had gathered whipping numerous forms of debris around her as she flew.
Finally, a Ring of Wind, slowly she began to rise again, slowly flying in a large Loop-de-loop. However, as she passed the other side, the wind from it pulled her towards the swirling vortex, she was pulled into a large vacuum and then rocketed of uncontrollably towards Ponyville, the tunnel of twirling wind still following her.
