I wake up to my radio and pause to listen. Fireworks by Katy Perry is just startingand I sing along. "Hey Selena Gomez, get ready for school." My younger sister, Lyra, says. Sometimes I feel like she is the older sister. I know she is proud of my voice. "I'm singing to wake up." "You don't think your own sister knows you?" "Of course you do, but-" "Come on Zorra, I know you love this song and are just singing it because you like it." "Or am I?" "Yah, Miss Omniscient, school." "Alright, Lyrical." I say determined to get the last word in. I rummage in my closet and some minutes later I have on a gray hoodie over a blue shirt, some nice jeans, and black boots with neon green laces. I play with my long light brown hair and stare into my own fierce green eyes in the mirror. I could give a little bit of an effort and boys would drool over me, but I don't like attention. They way I survive is quick and light, take that away and you kill me. l remember my own thoughts as I go downstairs. My parents don't really like me. They work with something stupid that hurts the environment lot. They like Mandy, my older sister. She is into their work and is good at her grades. They only like Lyra because she is cute, smart, and- oh yeah, obedient. They think I'm a disappointment, don't like my music, singing, or songs, and they hate my grades even though I only have one B. Official world's worst parents. No time for sob stories I need to get to school. I don't know why I bother with school my parents don't care. "But I care, plus music stars need to be smart first." Lyra had told me once. I walk in to school with Lyra nearby. Lance walks bye us and looks at Lyra in a way I'm unfamiliar with. I turn to Lyra. She is daydreaming and I snap to get her attention. "Huh? Oh yes." She says and grins. "I heard Lance was bad news, Kay? I mean rumors are rarely true and the whole don't judge a book by its cover thing, but be careful, Kay kay?" She was a goofy grin. "Oh right,Kay I mean I don't even really know him anyways, so I'll be fine." I can't help but remember my motto, but it's a secret one, even Lyra doesn't know it "Trust no one."
