Kiss the Earth
AN: For Kitten Kisses, because of her unfailing devotion to quality Fire Emblem fiction, multitude of fictions, and just because she likes Kent/Lyn.

He sees her now from a distance.
He always thought that she was the wind.
There was a free-spirited grace to her motions that belied any other description. A warm and gentle breeze, she brought laughter and light spirits to those she touched, even for the briefest instant.
And yet that breeze could, under the right conditions, become a fearful tempest capable of tearing men limb from limb. The lady would become a veritable whirlwind of steel, her blade cutting deep and true.
Her whims were perhaps capricious, but they brought a lightening of the mood to all in the army. Even the most dour of men would almost smile when she was near.
Perhaps she was this way because of the land of her birth.
Or perhaps it was just the nature of the Lady Lyndis.
His gaze turns to the man who stands beside her.
If she was the wind, then he was the earth.
Solid, always underfoot, dependable, and loyal. Blessed with humility and simple wisdom, and yet unable to chase after the one thing that he desired most.
His steadfast devotion was marked by all in the company, and his boistrous companion would often tease and cajole him with the fact.
That he always cast his eyes upward towards her, as the earth stretches out mountain peaks towards the unknowable sky, was also known by a few. She was high above him, and like the mountains, he always failed to quite touch her.
The watcher recalled that Kent could maintain his silence like the most ancient of stones.
But with all their battles over now, it seemed as though the two had finally met together.
Hiding his face behind the hood of his cloak, Teran turned away from the sight. A wry smile crossed his lips as he moved away, reflecting.
Wasn't it most appropriate that the last time that he would see them, that the wind would be kissing the earth?

AN: The line, 'He always thought she was the wind' kept bouncing around in my brain until this came out. Not sure whether that's good, bad, or something entirely different. Then again, it's the most inspiration that I've had in a while, so good?
Anywho, let me know how it was.
