That Man of Mine

As always, Ianto found himself looking at his pocket watch and wondering how a man who had been a Time Agent could have absolutely no concept of time. As he slipped the watch back into his waistcoat pocket, a young brunette walked towards him as he stood overlooking the bay.

"Excuse me sir", she said with a smile, pushing back a wind-whipped frizzy curl from her face, "Could you tell me the time, please."

"Certainly," Ianto replied, finding himself automatically smiling back, "It is a quarter past six."

"Thank goodness, I thought I was running late. Merlin knows the hell I'd catch if I was! Some free advice, never date anyone who equates tardiness to end of civilization!"

"Since it is near certain that tardiness", and here Ianto voiced a deep quiet laugh, "on the part of my date would signal the coming apocalypse, I'm afraid I can't commiserate. The only thing worse then his timekeeping abilities is his table manners. Absolutely atrocious."

Hermione laughed along with Ianto. "Better than the near aneurysm caused by the suggestion that for once we don't, as he puts it, 'dress' for dinner."

"Ah, but at least he changes his outfit. Jack rejects any suggestion for change, and absolutely refuses to wear anything but his old greatcoat." Ianto relented with a smirk, "However, he does look dashing in it."

Hermione sighed, smiled and with sparkling eyes said, "With my Severus it's his frockcoat, refuses to consider anything more modern…but then again, every time I see him in it, all my arguments of why he should fly right out of my head."

As Ianto and Hermione smiled at each other with complete understanding, two men appeared across the plaza. One with a black frockcoat billowing behind him, seeming to glide over the concrete, a look of quiet contentment on his face. The other with his coat flapping as he bounded across the plaza- a sheepish but brilliant smile on his face.

Bowing his head in a parting gesture, Ianto said conspiratorially, "Duw, we wouldn't change them for the world." With a nod of her own head, Hermione added, "No, not for all the world."
