Silence. That was all she could hear; just empty silence. Jess shot up from the bottom of the school pool. She would go down to the pool and sit at the bottom, thinking. Climbing out of the pool she shook the water from her hair and grabbed a towel from the chair. She paused from drying off and spun around to see a boy standing on the edge of the pool. He was shirtless, his hair dripped wet from the water as droplets of water landed on his muscular body. She continued drying her hands and grabbed her phone, checking for notifications. Nothing. "You new here?" The boy asked. She nodded and put her phone away. "I'm Dean, you are?" He asked. "Jess." She replied, putting her towel back down. She walked to the side of the pool and dived in perfectly. She swam a few laps before getting out and talking with Dean for a few minutes. Her flaming red hair dripped from the water and she got up to check her phone again. 'Report to HQ.' was written across the screen. "Be right back," She told Dean, grabbing her bag and phone she ran to the change rooms. Stripping from her swimsuit, she changed into her uniform. Slipping her black jacket over her black shirt she tied up her black converse. The logo on her shoulder stood out like a sore thumb. She pulled out the handgun from a spot in her bag and slid it into her waistband. Her aviators sat on the bottom of her bag; she pulled them out and placed them on her head. She left her bag behind and grabbed her phone. Dean sat on one of the benches outside, waiting for her. She snuck up behind him and poked him in the shoulder. "Aww you waited?" She asked, smirking. He blushed and looked away, he was still shirtless, but had dried off. She grinned and walked away, Dean stood up and quickly followed. "Geez, will you follow me anywhere?" She asked, putting her hand on her hip. "What's with the gun?" He asked backing away slowly. She rolled her eyes and sighed. "You'll soon find out, no I'm not going to shoot anyone." She replied, walking out of the pool area and out onto the oval. She walked to the center and stood, watching the sky. Dean stood a few feet away. Suddenly an iron suit landed a couple of yards away from Jess. Dean just stared in shock; this person had just seemingly fallen out of the sky and seemed fine. Jess stood with her hand on her hip, "About time you got here," She laughed. The suit opened up to reveal a black haired boy around her age. The boy stepped out of the suit and ran up to her, engulfing her in a large bear hug. She laughed and hugged him back. Eventually he let go and pressed his mouth to hers. She kissed him back and they stood there for a few moments until they both realized a crowd had gathered to see what was going on. Dean was still standing nearby and shuffled on his feet awkwardly. "We should go…" the boy whispered into her ear. She nodded and spoke to Dean, "Umm, this is my boyfriend, Jake Stark." Jake gave Dean a grin and wrapped his arm around her waist. "Wait hold on, as in Tony Stark's son?" Dean asked. Jake nodded and motioned to Jess "This is Jessica Romanoff," He informed Dean. "We should go," Jess stared at Jake. He nodded and walked over to the black suit, getting in he spoke to Jess. "Ready?" She nodded, but Dean interrupted. "So you're just going to leave? And how?" he asked, grabbing Jess's wrist. By now, Jake was hovering above the ground, urging Jess to leave. "Like this," She snapped as a pair of bright white wings spread out from her back, she slid her aviators over her eyes and took off into the sky. Jake flew after her and they headed to the headquarters of S.H.I.E.L.D. leaving the crowd to pick up their hanging jaws off the ground.
